Alarm keeps going off

My wife's 2013 Acura MDX alarm started going off last night intermittently. The fog lights also were going off randomly. I had to turn it off multiple times before deciding to unplug the battery. I watched a video on YouTube explaining that the issue is related to the keyless alarm smart control module.

My problem is that this is not the same vehicle so I do not know where this module is located and if it's even the same module. I have made an appointment on Monday with the Acura dealership but would like to avoid the trip because I know how expensive they are.

(FYI) I changed the circuit board in the key fob a few weeks ago since the buttons on it went bad. I installed OEM to avoid any issues. Everything worked until last night. I don't think this is the problem but wanted to share. I also unplugged the hood latch sensor but the alarm still went off. This causes the alarm to go off too if bad. So I think it has to be the Control module.

Somebody, please help.

I'd be checking the battery and alternator before I went to the dealer. This behavior is typical for bad charge. JMO

Autozone said battery is bad. So hopefully this is the problem. Will update if not the culprit.

has it been raining by you? Water in the fuse box can cause all sorts of issues.

Also for the alarm going off randomly, most of the time it's a failing hood latch sensor.

Yes, it was raining that night. I unplugged the hood latch sensor and it still went off. We bought a new battery last night and had no alarm go off. Hopefully, this was the problem. The battery was bad according to Autozone.
