Acura MDX suspension

I have been searching for MDX lowering springs for a while now and haven't come up with much. I wonder if anyone knows if the 1st gen (01-06) MDX share its suspension or springs/struts with any other vehicle in the Honda/Acura lineup?

Thanks!

The MDX closely shares similar parts and accessories with the Honda Pilot. No other would be close. The hardest part about matching parts up is that Honda changed the Pilot all around design ahead of the MDX. Essentially the framework for the 2nd Gen MDXs has existed in the Pilot for a few years now. For Example: (I hope this makes sense; it did in my head :p )The 01-06 MDX has the same starter, Only the 03-05 Pilot uses that same starter. The Pilot 06+ Models uses the 07+ MDX starter. Anyways, I assume it would be the same as the suspension system.

Good info. I have a friend at a local Acura dealer. Maybe i can get some info from him. I'm sure there has to be a few people that have lowered their MDX w/o going crazy with an airbag set up. The MDX would look great with a slightly more aggressive stance. Thanks!

I've haven't had any luck with finding any lowering springs either. I also think it would look better a little more dropped. I thought it was dangerous to cut springs? I don't think I would go that route.

I definately wouldn't cut springs. A lot of people go that route w/ vehicles with little aftermarket support. You could always go with a custom airbag setup.

Hellwig carries a product that is suppose to drop a vehicle by compressing the spring. I dunno about that deal. lol.

Doesn't sound too safe Its a shame that noone has made any sort of suspension for the MDX. I have seen suspension for the Pilot and the Odyssey. The MDX share both of those platforms. A custom airbag setup would probably cost a few Gs. A little more than i would be willing to spend.

Have you done any searching on using Odyssey springs? For some reason, I thought I had read somehwere somebody used these to lower their X.

I've done a little bit of searching for Odyssey vs MDX, didn't get any cold hard facts though.

KW makes a coilover set up for the Honda Ridgeline that lowers that vehicle. If the suspensions between the two cars are similar maybe you could use that.
