2011 MDX- Bent rim-

Hey guys.
My wife ran over something on the road and it damaged the tire and rim. The rim looks like this now. Is this fixable ? and if it isn't, what are my options ? Thank you in advance for any replies.

You can try taking it to a wheel repair shop that will send it out to be fixed or do it in house but it'll cost some $$$ and risk that the wheel will crack. I would buy a used wheel and keep this as an emergency space.

put it in direct sunlight for an hour on a hot day and take a mallet to it?

Doesnt look too bad. If its still drivable in that condition it will be moreso with a bit of hammer persuassion.

I sent it to a rim repair store. They quoted me based on a pic of the damage, the actual price i paid was like 85 more. F'ers.
They know they have you over a barrel once they have your rim. Not much you can do outside of filing a complaint and bashing them on social media.

ANd if the rim cracks then you are out the money and the wheel. I went through the same ordeal with my 13TL and ended up getting a used wheel for less than the repair price. $125 for a used rim or $150 for repair and 2-3 week delay...

So I got the rim back...paid like 245 when all was said and done.
I guess even if you buy a used rim there's a chance it could crack. I dunno..not a great experience overall.
The whole experience kind of sucked. At least the guy my wife initially took the car to where she broke down didn't charge her anything.
Being an attractive women in distress doesn't hurt with pricing sometimes..

Not fixable. You need to get a new rim ASAP.

You need a new rim. What if the fixed one failed on the highway, blew out, your wife crashed and then died or became a paraplegic? The money you saved playing Macgyver is not worth it.
