2008 MDX Gas Cap Problem

The car is saying that the gas cap is open but i checked it and it is not does anyone else have this problem?

Make sure you do this. If it's still there you may need to reset the car. Disconnect the battery (neg terminal) and it should clear up.

most likly a canister shut valve or a perige control valve. any way you need to take it to the dealer and have them run a evap fuction test.

I have on 08, and it has done that to me three times. I turn the car off, double-check the cap, then go about my business. Within half a day or so, the MID indicator goes off and things are back to normal.

Interestingly, each time it has happened, I have had less than 1/4 tank of gas.
