2007 MDX VSA light
Light came on Dealer did a diagnostic found no problem and reset the code .Told me if it did it again the VSA module would need to be replaced $1925.
Anyone else had this problem and may have found out it was something else?

you have 4 vsa sensors at each wheel.
those are more prone to damage from flying debris from the wheels, so if code comes back, check connections and inspect for damage in wheel well.
dealer was guessing when they mentioned VSA module, as there are ways to test if VSA module is bad.

^ AFAIK there isn't one...
VSA is proprietary to Honda/Acura so they are the only ones with the code list and meanings, that is also true for the ABS Codes.
You will need a highly sophisticated OBD-II reader that has VSA & ABS code list to know what it is. A short search revealed nothing on Code 80-1, The most common is 84-1 which says a ABS Speed sensor is bad.

Hey Krypton, just went through this today on my 2005 MDX with 135K miles on it. Same deal. They reset the VSA code and drove it around for a while with no problems. All for the low price of $145! Jesus, it probably took 2 minutes to do this. I couldn't reset the VSA with my cheap ODBCII reader. Have to have a Honda reader to reset these codes. I got a quote of $2,100 for the VSA modulator that I might need if the light comes back on. I will test/replace every sensor/switch before I do that. Dealer Service dude says he has only replaced 2 VSA modulators in 10 years. So, I'm hoping those odds work in my favor.

VSA light came back on last week. Damn. $145 down the drain for nothing. I will pull the wheels and check all the sensors for damage. Is there anything specific I should look for or am I just looking for obvious physical damage?
