2007 MDX key memory - not always working

When switching between driver 1 and driver 2 - the features are not always working as designed. Sometimes the seat will reposition itself, but the steering wheel won't go down at all. Sometimes the mirror will not adjust. Sometimes it will be the combination of the items not working.

I have to press either 1 or 2 on the driver door (it sometimes takes 2 or 3 times) to get everything to the correct positions.

Generally, this occurs when switching between driver 1 and 2 (or vice versa). When only driver 1 is driving the car, the steering wheel goes up and down as designed (obviously the seat/mirrors don't need to adjust).

Any ideas what's up?

I had the same problem, had bad mirror actuators. The mirrors hung up canceling the memory function. Pressing the button on the door a couple times got them going and they would work. I believe there is a code thrown when this happens.

Thanks. Did anyone try to replace the actuators themselves?

Mine was under warranty, but they had it in the shop less than an hour to test and change both, so I can't imagine that it is that bad of a job.

Bad mirror actuators will confuse your seat memory position.

Just had my actuator replaced. They said it was shorting and threw a fault code. Mine was out of warranty, so I paid for it. However, the problem is still there on the very next day out of the shop. I have another apt. this coming Monday. I had the issue as posted before, where I had to keep pressing the memory button and the settings would happen in small increments - total PITA. BTW, this will be the 4th actuator if they replace it again....factory one..... replacement 18 months ago....replacement 1 week ago....now this coming Monday = TBD. They either have continued bad parts or something else is causing these to fail. Not what I expected with an Acura vehicle.

I updated the memory settings for both drivers to use the same mirror position.
