Question 2005 MDX Timing belt stuff

Does anyone have the pages from the service manual for doing the timing belt change? I'm considering buying an electronic manual off of eBay, not sure what kind of quality I'd end up with.

I'm at 103K and considering doing it myself over a weekend. Probably buy the AISIN TKH002 kit from rockauto. I've seen various posts and even a couple of youtube videos that seem helpful, makes me think it's do-able in my garage with not many tools.

Thanks

I just don't know if I'd ever attempt to do this on my own. Keep us posted and good luck!

You needed a serious high torque impact wrench. Like the 975ft/lbs from harbor freight only cost $85. Then bring it back when your done.

Or that crankcase pulley removal tool from Amazon for $25. I think I'll just get that and not worry about air tools.

Crank bolt will be very tight, especially in the salt belt. Even at the dealer often an impact will not crack it loose, you need a strong gun with a large volume of available air at fairly high preasure. We usually just use a crank tool and a huge bar. Other than that the timing marks on the 03+ mdx's is a bit hard to see, just make sure to set tdc, nothing moves while you work and double check it all. Kind of a messy job with the water pump for a home project but just bring your mop/hose as its hard to catch all the coolant in a pan. PCM also has to come out for this job to be done right, make sure the key is out for a while before removing the cam lock connectors as well as making sure the connectors are properly clicked in prior to sliding the cam lock over to resecure otherwise you will break it and have a ton of trouble.

Good advice. I'm going to tackle it in a couple of weeks. Should be just over 105K then. Thanks
