'10 on the way!?

I am in the process of ordering a '10 Gray/Taupe Tech with running boards and tinted front windows. I just hope I get it before November/December. Time will tell.

My buddy told me the Acura dealers are really pissed as the supply of '09s is almost exhausted while sales have been picking up due to the great deals and low financing rates. Those that have them will not trade to other dealers. If you want to buy an '09 now expect to pay close to sticker, if not full MSRP.

From BCLocalnews.com dated 11 August 2009: "The North American-designed and engineered MDX will go on sale across Canada at the beginning of December. Pricing will be announced in late October. Acura is the luxury-performance division of Honda Canada Inc"

Let me know how much the dealer (I'm assuming one of the two in Indy?) is charging for tinted front windows once you finally get the 2010 ordered, I know somebody in Indy who does a great job and does a lot of work for the dealers here so maybe you could cut out the dealer's "finder fee."

Wow, it's been almost three months since I started this thread and not much has happened, but I just read on another Acura fansite that the dealers are now taking orders for the '10 with delivery in early December. I sure hope it's true. I'm still waiting to hear from my dealership with news about build and delivery dates for my '10.

I have an '08 RDX. I thought the RDX would be a scaled down MDX, but I was wrong. It turned out to be a warmed over CR-V. Hopefully, the '10 MDX will be what I am looking for in luxury and high tech goodies a la my old '06 RL.

LMAO at the scaled-down comment about RDX ... always call RDX the little cousin of MDX ...

Good luck getting your hands on a '10 MDX ....

Wow you have guts I would never commit to a car I have not seen in person + driven.
Any bets on how bad the new 6spd tranny will be? I'm considering the Mdx as our 2nd car but I really don't want a repeat of the 01-02 transmission nightmare.

Update: I called Acura Client Services today due to lack of Acura website update to include the '10 "Build and Price" seeing that I got the brochure a few days ago. Would you believe no one could give me an answer? I was on the phone for over 8 minutes (mostly on hold) as one CSR after another told me to contact my dealership. Huh? What does my dealership have to do with the Acura.com website? I did have one CSR tell me it would be changed "soon". Duh! I am losing my faith in Acura Client Services.

Finally heard back from my dealer. Yes, the MDX has been delayed once again; this time until late December. The ZDX will not be out until January. They did not give me any reason for the delays. I am thinking it still has to do with the new tranny.

There's really not much else to explain it. Th 6AT must still have issues.

It would be my guess the dealers just found out about the delay the other day as reported by "black label" in another thread. So, if the last build date is 28 November for the '09; then Job 1 will be the following Monday, or they already have some '10s built and will get they in the pipeline ASAP. This is certainly not good PR/marketing on Acura's part, but if they admit the tranny has major issues people are going to be leery in buying a '10 at any price point. This delay also gives credence to the report of a reduction in prices for the '10 in Canada since they pay thru the nose for the MDX in the country of their manufacturer.

Just to clarify, the last 2009 MDX coming to me has a build date of 11-24/11-28. The delay on the ZDX doesn't have anything to do with the MDX (as far as I've been told). The ZDX is over a pricing argument between Japan and US. I can't remember at this point who wanted to charge more and who wanted to charge less but they can't seem to come to an agreement as to what the ZDX should cost.

I would hope that after their previous transmission issues they would have tested this 6 speed thoroughly long before they announced it would be in the MDX or ZDX.

I can understand the reason for the delay in ZDX pricing, but why no pricing for the MDX yet? I've read 3% increase, which seems a little high, but who knows what Acura is thinking.

Good News and Bad News

First the bad news: My dealer could not confirm build/delivery of my '10 MDX anytime in the next 6 weeks or so. So, I told them to forgetaboutit as I had to have delivery in time to get the title and registration before our trip to the southern missions in January.

Now the good news: I bought a '10 RDX Tech Red/Taupe today and will pick it up on Saturday.

So, it's aloha to all the members on this side and I will be going back to the RDX for the near future. Who knows, I just might buy an MDX in a couple of years. You guys have been great.
