'07 MDX Battery Issues
Hello.. I have an 07 MDX that is out of warranty. Approx 1000 miles past the 50k warranty, my HFL and Bluetooth went out on the car. The dealer wanted $700 to fix.
I declined, and we have been living without the HFL and Bluetooth headphones since.
However, the car has started to eat batteries. And if it goes a few days without being started when it is cold, it will need a jump, or have the charger put on it.
I removed the HFL (39770-STX-A010-M1) module from the car a few days ago, (did not replace yet, just left it unplugged) and replaced the battery with a new one.
This morning, battery is dead. I charged up with battery charger and attached a meter between the neg battery terminal and the black cable. I set it at DC Amps (10 A) and it was reading about 3 amps. I went back 30 mins later, and it was sitting at about 1.4 AMPS.
I started unplugging fuses one at a time and the current draw did not drop significantly. I have read that it should be < 50 miliamps (.050 Amps) I did this on all fuses under dash, by the rear tail gate, and in little box under hood next to the battery.
Are there other fuses I need to check? Sorry for the book here, but this problem is driving me crazy, and I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.
Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. My link here: https://acurazine.com/forums/1-2g-mdx-2001-2013-166/hfl-battery-died-my-2007-a-875188/#post14195732
Removing the HFL dropped my draw from 350mA to 24mA. Stayed at 24mA for 15 minutes.
Do you have anything else plugged in? Phone chargers, remote starter, things like that?

My 2007 MDX battery keeps going dead. What is an HFL and is it OK to unplug it?
I measured the current draw and found that it drew 0.238 amps but when I unplugged the radio fuse it only drew 0.023 amps. Is the HFL on the radio circuit? I don't have nav nor Bluetooth (I think).
Will unplugging it mess up something else? Was it a factory item or added by a dealer later?
Thanks,
Peter

HFL=handfree link for your phone (bluetooth)
this is a factory item.
as far as wiring...no idea.
typically battery issues within acuras....finger pointing goes to the HFL if the battery is good. if those two items are ok, then you get into more involved electrical items that maybe drawing power unnecessarily. any of you guys using an aftermarket ipod adaptor? any other accessories plugged into the car that don't shut off after the car stops?

I don't use the handsfree bluetooth stuff, so it's a no brainer for me to save the $400 ($225 parts) I was quoted to fix it.
Here's how to pop the console off. The HFL is the black box with a wire harness going into it that has the Bluetooth logo on it

Good luck.

Fixed it!
Suddenly, the draw dropped down to normal (with the HFL unplugged, about 20ma drawn)....
A couple weeks go by, and then dead battery again. Having ruled out the HFL, I decided to replace the AC Solonoid... I have read that sometimes these will intermittently drain your battery.
2 months now, and all is working well. Looks like that was it!
