I'm doing a fluid change and I'm wondering if the transaxle fluids are the same as the automaticautomatic transmission. If not where does the transmission fluid go? My manual uses them synonymously.

the transaxle and transmission fluid are the same. The ATF (use honda ATF from dealer) goes into the transmission. There are 2 schools of thought. The manual suggest a full fluid replacement around 24K?? where you essentially do 3x of changes to the vehicle. What I understand most people do is every other oil change, they drain and fill the ATF (about 3.5 - 4.0 quarts). This doesnt put all new transmission fluid in your vehicle, but makes certain that the fluid is generally less than 10K-15K old

Here is a video of A full process
(not responsable for the guy in there)

but like I said, a lot of people "spread out the cost" over a few oil changes rather than the $120-$150 to waste 2 gallons. I hope this helps!
