I just received my air/bug deflector from Bernardi Parts (best price I could find, and reasonably fast shipping... look here: http://acura.bernardiparts.com/Acura-Hood-Air-Deflector-MDX__08P47-STX-200.aspx#).

Unfortunately, I got sidelined before really even beginning the install. I have the instructions for a 2011 MDX (mine is a 2012). At the underside of the hood, there is a small rubber gasket that follows the line of the hood and is attached by 7 or 8 small round clips. The instructions don't mention anything about removing the gasket. The grommet holes necessary for mounting the bug shield are under the gasket. I pulled it loose from one of the clips, but couldn't get the clip out... even with moderate force.

Anyone installed one of these? Any advice would be appreciated.

Any luck installing your deflector? I've encountered the same issue today trying to install on 2013 MDX. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Simply install the clips in designated area. Should be 8 inserts. Screw in. I left the gasket. 2008 MDX.
