My New 18" Wheels For My 2012 TSX Special Edition!

I just recently bought a 2012 TSX Special Edition Milano Red. Now normally, the special edition has different wheels (inserts of the normal wheel painted Gun Metal). For some reason, mine can with standard wheels. I purchased the car used, so the Ford Dealer knew nothing about the car. Here is a pic of the car: Name: IMG_2131_zps047b9e8e.jpg

So, I found out my wife wasn't fond of the wheels either, so I just bought a set of A-spec wheels locally off craigslist. I paid $500, they are genuine Acura and I am believing they may be their 18" "Chrome Look" Wheels, but they definitely aren't Chrome or machined. 2 of the tires are still good, but the other 2 need replacing.

None! 1 wheel has a tiny scratch mark (1/4") and that is it!

Now, any suggestions on tires? I can keep my current wheels/tires for winter, so I can either do all-seasons or summer tires.

Also, thoughts on tire size? The current tires are 235-40-18, the TSX shows 235-45-18 for their 18" option. I also saw a 225 option somewhere.

Yes looks like touring wheels and parking censors on EX. You can tell touring by those items plus Xm antenna on roof, and moon roof. :-)

The new wheels fit the opening MUCH better. They are much more flush and not recessed like the factory 17" I had.

Why does your front end look lowered? The wheels look much better!

Believe, next mod will be do some lowering springs. Already have the wife's buy in on that as well. I'll probably do that in the spring. These wheels will come back off in a couple of months for the winter.

What you need is a drop and bigger tires.

Heres mine on 245/40/19 tires.

Except his are 19" and mine are 18" Kinda hard to make them grow by 1". His looks good, but I think once I lower mine, I will accomplish the look I am going for.

I said he has the look down right because he is lowered, not that you need 19s. If anything, I prefer 18s. Look at Bagwell's 18s with an Eibach drop, this is a really nice set up:

Love the A-Spec wheels -- they look great on your car! Here's my car with the same wheels on 225-45-18 tires with a 1" Eibach Prokit install (and yes, spacers, I know, I know..)

I did Eibach based on personal history / preference but they're not as low as H&R. One piece of advice, if you do go with Eibach, make sure you install the align-kit for both front and back -- I wore through a set of tires really fast without them due to negative camber. Expensive mistake. (the camber kit + install wasn't cheap either!)

Was camber really that bad with just a 1" drop?

Nice looking TSX! Did you buy that at City Ford in Columbia City, IN? I remember seeing a MR TSX SE for sale there with standard wheels on them. You got a heck of a deal on those A-Spec wheels

This thread makes me feel bad for passing up mint 18' a-spec wheels for $450 with 20mm spacers.

Actually, that is the exact car I bought. We went to Chicago for vacation and it was just a little bit further.

Nice If I remember correctly, that one was priced really low. I almost jumped on it, but it was over 500 miles away from me.

It is the special edition, which only comes with a 4. But 200HP is plenty for this car and I love the gas mileage!

Do you guys think 225/40-18 is pushing it on the tire wall on aftermarket wheels? Speedo wise how much off would it be and do you think it can look fine with a mild drop
