350z brembo rotor as replacement for discontinued 1 pc rotora bbk disc?
Hey all,
Recently upgraded to a set of Rotora BBK, the 1 pc disc that is discontinued. I also realized the rotors are rusted and not runnable on the set I purchased and also know that this 1 pc rotor is discontinued by Rotora.
I have been looking for a replacement set and was thinking that the 350z drilled/slotted brembo rotor that we use for the RL BBK conversion would be a direct replacement since Rotora only sells the 2 pc disc now and it is incompatible with my model and they are both 13" discs (the 350z disc and the rotora disc).
Not sure if anyone has tried this before but I'm 99% sure it will work and plan on ordering a set in hopes of a test fit and replacement.
Any help would be appreciated if anyone knows or could chime in.
I've spoke with Excelerate about this and informed them I'd be ordering a set as well to test it out since they were also able to provide me with replacement set of brake pads since my Rotora brake pads were no good as well.

If length is correct the only issue now is thickness. Do you have the specs for it? In worst case the 350z rotors are thicker and you will have to run them down to spec and it will work BUT if the 350z Rotors are thinner you will have a lower brake pressure all the time.

been doing a lot of reading and its pretty hard to come by 330x23mm rotors which are the Rotora specs.
the 350z brembo rotors are 324x30 so I don't think that will work.
Decisions, decisions...

Another question and alternative idea!
Since the rotors are not cracked or warped and only rusted, wouldn't I just be able to clean them up to run them? Looked into the product 'Metal Rescue' and feel confident after watching a few videos and reading reviews in soaking the rotors for a few hours to cure/clean them up.
The only reason I've been looking for a replacement set is just because of the rust, no cracks or breaks on the rotors themselves, I just assumed I wouldn't want to run a set that is rusted and was lazy to clean it at the time.
Thanks!

Yea because basically...you have to upgrade to the 2pc disc now for like 1k + and trade in your old set. Fuck that. I would've just went with another brand/setup if I knew that was going to be the case.
But no worries, I always work with what I've got and I'll make this set work and it'll be glorious hahaha. I plan to clean off the rust on the rotors and get a new set of brake pads and call it a day!
Thanks for the help as well man!

So for the RL BBK mos you need:
RL calipers
350z drilled/slotted brembo Front rotor
Custom Brackets by Fastline
Didnt mean to jack your thread Sorry

Rotora left a ton of customers out in the cold when they stopped supporting their 1pc rotor BBK’s. A lot of people invested in them, and Rotora stopped producing replacement rotors, refusing to back their product and telling people they could only trade in their old kits for new 2pc rotor BBK’s. There are numerous threads here with people desperately researching solutions. I myself talked to several vendors and got close a couple times to finding a rotor that would work, but it was still a dead end. Spent a lot of time scouring the internet.
I was talking with Casey at XLR8 last year and they went to Stop Tech, but nothing came of it. They suggested two factory rotors for other cars that wouldn't work iirc. Another vendor was pretty helpful and we found some late 80's/early 90's Saleen rotors that were close, but not close. Two other vendors said they could reproduce the rotors, but the price wasn't worth it. Anyway Rotora could have easily continued to offer the rotors, but chose to screw people over instead of offering what's called customer service.
But I'm not bitter or anything...

Are the rotora calipers 2 piece? (ie separate in the middle)? If so you could run separate them, make a shim to go between the 2 pieces and run a thicker rotor like the 350z

Are they are 23mm thick? That seems to be awfully thin. Stock TL fronts are 28 with a min rating of 26

^ Shouldn't affect piston travel since you are giving the space needed to fit the new bigger rotor (Should remain almost the same).
The caliper brake divider line is a simple copper tube which can be retro-fitted from hardware store pieces.
