H.I.C roof spoiler

Just want to put it out there for anyone considering this roof spoiler that I had this spoiler and it lasted about 4 months and flew off today going about 80 to 90 on the highway. I guess the spoiler is too big and the weight of the spoiler is too much for the single strip of 3m tape it comes with. It was installed properly using a heat gun and the glue provided.

Anyone know of a good roof spoiler that fits and looks good that won't fly off? Ebay has a fyralip brand anyone heard of it?

ive had my HIC Spoiler for a year and 3 months and had gotten my car up to speeds past 110mph+ more than a dozen times over the year
and its still going strong... i recently removed my hic spoiler because i had to replace my windshield and the spoiler got in the way of the roof molding.. trying to remove the spoiler took a shit ton of effort on my part to the point i had to warm up the 3m tape cause i felt like i would of broken the spoiler while removing it

i retaped mine with brand new extra strength 3M tape so i know it wont be going anywhere

it shouldn't come off with a proper install, did you clean the window and rub it down with alcohol before installing? i don't have HIC, but on my roof spoiler i added super strong 3m tape and also used high strength polyurethane adhesive to keep mine down. that sucker can still come off but it would take a lot of work and some time. i went overboard because my first roof spoiler with just the supplied tape was ripped off while i was inside a store. this time i went above and beyond to lock it down haha

Yup cleaned and used alcohol to get a clean surface. Did u add the the stronger tape on top of the existing tape or did you remove the tape it came with?

In addition to. I added tape almost anywhere there wasn't original tape. They prob just used very weak generic tape.

Update

Hey guys, I just wanted to updated this thread by letting you guys know that I reached out to H.I.C and explained to them the incident that occurred. They were beyond understanding of the situation and sent me a replacement spoiler free of charge. Great customer service on a great spoiler for our cars, highly recommend them.

Any suggestions on making sure the spoiler doesn't fly off this time? I'm thinking of using epoxy glue this time or something of that nature. If I just use a stronger tape should I remove the tape already applied on the visor or should apply the tape on top of the existing tape?

OK thanks. The glue that you used did you apply it over the tape? The way the HIC spoiler is designed there isn't really any room to add your own tape.

i added adhesive in areas without tape. but to be honest you can apply it over tape too, once you push it down the adhesive will spread out and fill in areas anyway. good luck!

i've had my spoiler on for about 2 years now and it's still holding super strong.
