Motor Mounts

I have searched through a few posts but have not seen any real stories as to a source for motor mounts. I am looking for a good replacement to my worn factory front & right side engine mount. No i do not want the polyurethane mounts. I have manage to read about the stories with them. I have found some on Rock Auto for about $140 for the pair. Anyone else have any experience with these mounts?

What does bad rear engine mount feel like?

Recently my car had realy bad vibrations at idle but i had the front and side engine mounts replaced. No vibrations now in reverse at idle but still in Drive. Do you think replacing upper trans mount and rear engine mount will fix the vibrations at idle in Drive? What are symptoms of bad rear mount?

Did you replace your old mounts with aftermarket performance mounts? Stiffer polyurethane mounts will cause some vibrations typically when in park or at a stop. Our XLR8 engine mounts are designed to last longer than oem mounts and provide better road feel to the driver. We offer all three of our XLR8 motor mounts for the 3G TL for $300.

PHYSICALLY check to see if mounts are intact and not broken.

IF broken, replace. IF not broken, no need to replace!

Weren't the XLR8 motor mounts the ones that caused a whole lot of vibration & also broke the bolt off the front motor mount? If so i'll stick to OEM

^no.

anything can cause broken mounts. the engine torques or moves around a lot. after a while, mounts just break.

the XLR8's are stiffer, therefore introduce a little more vibrations into the cabin, but NOTHING to be scared of...

Our mounts will cause some added vibration more noticeably at a stop or in park, but smooth out once the car is in motion. They also break in after a couple thousand miles and soften up. I haven't seen these break the front motor mount bolts.

Our bushings are poly and the bolts are steel. Unless the mounts are not installed properly, you shouldn't have any issues.

I replaced the front and side with OEM. I also noticed that previous owner took off the bracket and the heat insulator are these parts really necessary?
