I have weathertechs which were about $200 in the Kia.
functional, because thats what they were made for. to trap dirt and mud and spills.

these ones that are being hawked here on AZ are diamond stitched puffy floor mats...

like, why would you get puffy diamond stitched floor mats that will attract dust, dirt, spills, etc ?

fair enough, but your weathertechs for 200 were front and rear. he essentially only got 2 mats... for 400.. he bought them last year and he wont even install them in the car. he has them on the shelf, in a box, just because he knows they're rare

I was about to buy some weathertech ones. Cost was $150, I was like "can't even do it." I'll just vacuum every other day or so.

I always thought rubber mats looked ugly on a "luxury" car...
but being able to vacuum the car in ten seconds...

and no sand and dirt getting stuck in teh carpet and making it look worn BEFORE it looks banged up. No brainer.
