RL's are fantastic cars. Used ones are the way to go IMO, especially if they've had the timing belt done already. I'd say buy.

Welcome to the forum.

Looks in halfway decent shape for the miles (127k miles for us U.S. Americans). Have you contacted the seller for what that $4k in receipts is about?

Make sure you ask about the motor and transmissions mounts, the headlights (whether they still operate properly and or the balasts failing), alternator, rust, especially in the y-pipe. Most important is that it has had the tune-up done. Also ask if he had the spark-plugs changed. Just be aware that there will be additional costs with a RL with that much mileage (bulbs, bulbs, bulbs, nav unit, door handles, air conditioning compressor, rotors) be prepared.

The 05 RLs have shown to be quite reliable, especially if you have one with all the work done already. It's great that there is a new "timing belt, control arms, rotors and brake". For under 10k you should be able to find an 05 in better condition, but 127k miles seems about average for an 05. Last year I sold my 05 RL(bought new in 05) the car had 98k miles, and I sold it for 11.8k and it was in perfect condition, and the timing belt wasn't done. If you can manage to find an RL in better condition go for it, the insurance should be quite good. But this particular RL seems to be in good condition; average condition for a car this age. However, most RL drivers get under 20MPG(US), make sure your okay with poor gas millage, and expensive tire replacements. Before you buy an RL, remember this car was over 50k new, and maintenance can become quite costly, part of the reason I sold my 05. 8700, seems like a great price, check to make sure the car is accident free, and how many previous owners it has.
