Type S Chrome Grill Color

I have an old thread where I experimented with trying to get dark chrome in the cleared out headlight using MetalCast. My whole theme on my car was a smoked out look. I thought it would look great with my AM A-Spec look. Not easy to get a nice even shiny transparent coat with a spray can. It usually ends up with a matte coat, clearcoating over it won't work. You would really need a light spray with really thinned out paint with a gun to get it right.
A real light vinyl tint would be great, but who makes one? All the ones available are way too dark. You would need something that is REALLY light. Window tint would obviously not work.
My friend has those dark chrome Lexus emblems but they are a bit darker than I would want. That is almost shiny black. To me black chrome would be much lighter.
