Yeah, ..... consider replacing the other accessory drive belts, tensioner, rad hoses, T-stat, cam seal and anything accessible at the time. Your only added expense will be the cost of parts as everything is opened up during the T-belt replacement process. Also, the mounts should be inspected for wear. Read the "DIY"s and other previous threads on the subject for additional info.

Forgive me as this is my first time hearing of this method. What's required to do it? Just anchor the breaker bar and have someone crank it over a few times? Getting ready to do this in a few months so trying to gain info now.

I have also used the starter method on a 95 V6 Accord C27a4, 05 TL J32a3 and my older TL-P engine J32a1.
NEVER hold the key while cranking and disable the ignition or fuel system, I just remove the Main relay. Works Flawless.

Might give the gates kit a shot on the type s engine, I have no clue if it was ever changed.

The one I saw on youtube disconnected the front bank of plugs and it worked fine. Just anchored to the lower control arm next to the oil filter with his breaker bar. It's just a quick flick with the key right? That's what you mean by don't hold it down?
