First Car. First Mod.
I have decided to do some mods on my car, learn how things work, get the car to go faster, take it to a track.
My question is. What is a good easy mod to put on my car? Preferably something cheap, something I can do my self (with some assistance from a friend - mechanically inclined).
I'd like to know what it does, are there downsides to doing it? Thanks!
My Car: 2003 Acura CL 2.3 W/ Tiptronic Transmission (Sporttronic?)
Overall, I like to go fast, and I'd like to learn about cars.

you meant 3.2. Are you familiar with the transmission issues the auto CL's have? You're best to find a different car if your goal is to go faster and take it to the track. Please drive safe and remember there are other people on the road.
Here are some mods to reserach here:
Headers (DC headers)
Pullies
Intake
Bigger throttle body

3.2 is what I meant! I have heard of Transmission issues, my car has made it 72,000 miles on original transmission. Do you think it could still be a bad one? or are they just built weaker than normal cars?

Much weaker. Cooling is a big issue with these transmissions. If you can upgrade to an external cooler, you'll stand a better chance. But if performance is key for you, the automatic will let you down. If not soon, then especially once more power is applied to it.
One alternative is to use a newer 2006-2007 Accord V6 automatic or 2005-2006 Honda Odyssey transmission.

all the autos have a flawed transmission. I wouldn't pump too much $ into the car, but that's me. Look for some used headers in the Black Market section here. Those are the best power mod, no downsides.
