Marti. Out of the three you listed, I would go for the Audi. All Germans are pricy to own as you know. Get a good warranty since they always spend time in the garage.

Nothing like a reliable Japanese brand if you asked me.

 

well i went to audi and acura today, gotta wait till tomorrow to find out what audi is gonna do for me, but acura is willing to give me what i want for my car and sell me a 2012 TL tech for $36,700. ill find out more tomorrow on the audi and make my decision. the TL is sweeeeet.

 

Does it have to be a 2012? For the 36k you can get some pretty bad ass used rides. I would like a 335i coupe myself.

 

well, i love the 3 series coupes but not the sedans so much. i want 4 doors, tired of having to put atreyu in the back seat every day.

i really cant see spending 36K on a used car. especially when warranty is something i want to keep as long as possible. the acura is 48 month 50K miles, pretty average im noticing on these luxury sedans.

 

You can most definitely find a 335i used for much cheaper than 36k if you look for it. And I do believe Atreyu is a big enough boy to be able to fasten his own seat belt, right?

btw, Are you planning to making it to our next meet by any chance?

 

One thing I never understood is that how German cars are always touted for their German engineering, but then when you own one, the maintenance cost is that of the first ever Chinese built "car" in 2004 or (a lot) more.

 

Delta, when I was looking at used TLs the Audi a4 2.0t Quauttro was on the Acura used lot too, and they presented it to me as an option. It was nice, but too small compared to the TL. Also, my friend knows a tow truck driver, and he told him that Audis are on the top of his list for an auto maker that he tows a lot due to performance malfunctions. Not sure on specifics, but I can get more information if you like.

The Lexus is nice for a hybrid, but I'm not sure im sold on the wagon look. To me it looks a lot like the Matrix with a bit more class.

My vote, out of these three is the Chrysler 300 V-8, but I like your decision to consider the 2012 TL Tech. The 335i is a nice car, but it's smaller than the TL and maintenance is more costly.

 

I mentioned the 335i cos that's what I would pick for me. Marti needs something with more space. I see another TL in your future...

 

The 335i is something i would seriously consider too, but i think if i ever can afford to get a BMW and all of the costs that come with one, I'll probably need to get into a 5 series for more comfort.

 

well its audi head to head with the tl tech. its all a matter of decision now. i need to also really research how muc maintainence really is on this audi. im not trying to spend as much as i did on my mercedes back in the day for something as stupid and simple as an oil change. also it will have a 48 month 50k mile warranty so im not TOO worried about it breaking down, i will more than likely already sell it by that time lol

 

Two great cars either way you go. What color are you thinking of getting? Do you plan to mod either car?

Well, after working all day with Audi, they were very helpful and very willing to deal and work with me, but couldn't realistically get me what I wanted in my price range. I could get the a4 premium with a few add ons for the same price as the TL but the Audi had WAY less options at that price and trim. I'm gong tomorrow to pick up a white 2012 TL tech fwd auto. Really took a lot of thinking and deciding. After getting 11mpg on my ride home tonight in the challenger I was pretty much convinced it is a choice I need to make.

 

And yes, I will be modding it. Not so much in the performance end but most definitely aesthetically. Drop, wheels, possibly Ron Jon kit or Acura sport kit. All of this will be late future more than near. Window tint will be done ASAP.

 

I won't be able to make it cause I work that weekend till 1pm and its a 3 hr drive. Boo

 

How did I know you would once again become an Acura owner.

lol man i love me some luxury cars! the challenger is SOOO bad ass. but honestly the only main thing that makes it so bad ass is the look, and the reaction from people.i mean even now after the challenger has been out this many years, i still have people stopping to take video/pictures, ask me about it, thumbs up, etc. but im to the point now where its like...how far does that really go? u know.

the TL is gonna be nice when i finish it. i have magic hands :P

i am now the owner of a 4G TL tech, white with black interior and accessory package.

rides so much smoother than the challenger and just so nice to drive. has some pep to it, obviously cant compare it to the challenger.
