2006 rl, for $21,300
2006 rl, for $21,300
Hello i need some advice i am about to purchase a 2006 RL clean carfax, 1 owner, located in NYC- 30,600 miles. They are asking $21,300. The car is not certified. Is this a good price? and how long before i have to get it certified.
thanks
thanks
that sounds like a great price. i jsut bought a 2006 with 29k , but it WAS a CPO and I paid $26,500. you are quit a bit below that..and with the almost $5000 difference, you could easily buy an aftermarket warranty and still have money left over....
any private party car - get inspected by a shop for mechanical and major body damage. carfax is not perfect. stuff can get hit, damaged, and fixed and carfax wont' show it. a mechanic and/or body shop can tell you if it's been whacked and fixed / put back together or if there is something wrong with it.
at 30k miles, mechanically it shoudl be in good condition. is it clean? i looked at quite a few RLs before I bought mine - and there were some that were really dirty / poorly kept. scratches, scuffs, etc...just NOT well cared for. mine was literally flawless...and i jumped on it. must have been some old single person...who never had kids in it, never ate in it.. it still had the blue protective film on the door sills..
be patient, find the car you want - the colors you want, and then buy. i f you rush it, and settle you'll be sorry.

What should I be asking for?
What questions should I be asking?
Thanks

are they stock wheels but with chrome finish or aftermarket wheels? if they are stock wtih chrome, maybe you just buy your own wheels and then sell those on ebay... someone, somwhere, will want them. good condition OEM wheels can sell for a decent price... especially if you break them up and sell them one by one...takes time, but you can get okay money for them... people sometimes bend one and just need one....or a dealership might want to buy them off you to fix up a car...
you can get decent wheels for the RL in 18" for about $250/wheel from ronjon or tirerack.

definitely get it looked at price seems kind of low, but the market bounces up and down.....this is a better season to buy I think and if you are going to finance watch out because I know a lot of dealers sell for a lower price because they know they are going to kill you on the loan

Good luck with the new ride. Don't rush into it, it's an expensive purchase, there will be others...and people are willing to make deals in this economy.
thanks

I have a few question blazing?
1. Does it come with trunk mats?
2. How many keys in total should i receive with purchase?
3. Anything else that should be included OEM can you list?
4. Also i got quoted $1998.00 for 4 years 75,000 miles Bumper to Bumper Warranty from Acura of Brooklyn is that expensive? I am still shopping around.

I am always very cautious about buying cars, carfax will not always show repairs. We can discuss all day and guess, best way if for a neutral body show and mechanic to inspect if you do not know what to look for. I personally would NEVER buy a body damaged repaired car, too many issues.
Paint fads at different rates if one is newer than the rest, rust protection is almost never as good as factory painted original cars. Not to mention frame issues, alignment issues, stress to items you cannot see. Mileage issues are another red flag. When was the last time you saw a major dealer sell a great car cheap, does not happen. My 2 cents from a 58 year old who has had waaaay to many cars.

Whether its a good thing OR bad, that 06 hasn't seen a dealer since the hose recall, or they would have corrected it as soon as it hit the service lane because of fire hazard. It will be free when you get it to a dealer though.
I called my Acura dealer (service) after I bought my 06 and they gave me everything that was ever done to my car since it hit the road- new. It was a lease turn in so maybe thats different.
Also, im not saying they are bad, but I ran a carfax check on my 98 CL before I sold it and the carfax didnt show the transmission I had changed out or one of the two power windows that broke. Little scary. I wrote them a letter about it.
