Random VSA Warning Light?!?
I was on my way to work the other day and in mid driving the VSA triangle (which conveniently looks like the yellow one with the ! on this site) popped up as well as yellow VSA letters which lit up on the dash near the seatbelt warning. I know the triangle comes on when the VSA is off but the yellow letters struck me as something odd
Do I need to worry about this, Has this ever happened to anyone? Is this something that needs to get fixed, and if so, is it expensive?
Originally I thought my knee bumped it when I got in the car but that was not the case as I tried to turn the warning signs off by hitting the VSA button at the next stop light but that did not work. The lights pop in and out every other time I take the TL for a spin and dont turn off until the car shuts off...

Needs wheels
The VSA light comes on whenever the system actually engages. I had to drive through a hail storm once and that light was flashing on and off like crazy because it was like driving on gravel and the system was trying to maintain control.

yeah I think the first time it started was when I was braking pretty hard and hit a bump, almost felt like the ABS kicked in.. but then when it turns on it wont go back off..
Good looks on the service bulliten, I am pretty sure my warranty is up since I'm over 50k so I will have to see if Acura will hook it up with one of those "goodwill considerations" but thats doubtful

that's normal for the light to flash if you do that... I got that a few times on hard bumps or potholes....that TSB is for mushy brake pedal or further than normal travel.......... it's not normal for the light to remain on

Driver Mod
Turns out it was a V0107 code which is TAC Module Communication Failure (Throttle Actuator Module). All the codes were cleared and the vehicle was roadtested and did OK.
The service writer said it was a pretty rare code and need an engineer if it came up again.
Does anyone have any experience with this ?
Any knowedge is greatly appreciated !

Same VSA light came on in my 2001 CL Type S. Never had this problem until few days ago when my car started spinning on some snow. I know it's supposed to come on when traction is lost, but now it just randomly turns on.

Vsa light 2006 mdx
Just brought my 2006 Acura MDX to the dealership because of the vsa triangle always being on and once I started driving the VSA word would light up and stay on. Waiting to see what the damage to my pocket will be. I have 85000 miles on it.

Any updates on the VSA problems?
In July '14 I took my '05 MDX in to the dealer for the most recent VSA recall.
Approximately 5 weeks later, I experienced what appeared to be my Antilock Brakes engaging quickly for a short burst, first on the driver side, for about 10 quick pulses. It felt as though I had driven over the small lane bumps, but there was nothing in the road. This was when the VSA warning light and triangle appeared. Later that day when I returned to my car, the light was not on, but within 5 miles, the same thing happened again, this time coming from the passenger side. The light has been on since that time.
This sounds like the problem that was occurring that the recall was supposed to fix (which I was not having any problem until after they "fixed" my car).
Of course I took it back to the dealer to have the computer codes read and diagnose the problem. They performed the diagnostics and did the troubleshooting protocol and could not find anything wrong. The next step in the diagnosis is to replace the VSA / ABS module with a known working unit - which will cost $1500 for just the part and $500 for labor. Of course this part almost NEVER goes bad, so they don't have it on hand and I would have to order it. And, they don't even know if this will fix the problem, it's just the next step in the diagnosis.
The dealer does not believe that it is related to the recall work that was just done, but I do not see how it just happens to have a problem with a part that almost never breaks so soon after it was patched. I contacted Acura and of course they reached out to the dealer and say that it isn't their problem.
Has anyone else had this problem? I love this car, but $2k and it might not even fix the problem?
Thanks, Linda
PS. The day I picked it up after the recall service, the rear view mirror had a bubble in it. I know that this is a common problem, but really bad timing for it to happen. Oh, and I've had 2 vent clips break off. Sigh.
