Hello AZ 3G World,
It recently occurred to me that we mess around with our cars so much and we dont really talk much about where we do all this work. So i thought it would be good to have a thread where we show our garages and exchange garage ideas. I personally am a little ashamed of the mess in my garage but i am going to start by posting pics of my current garage in the hopes i get my act together and these pics become the "Before Pics". I would love to have it much more organized and nice.
Before i get into my current garage here is a pic of my previous garage. When i first got the TL about 7 yrs ago i lived in a condo and this was my garage (my parking spot). The condo rules enforced by the HOA Nazis never allowed working on cars so i would wake up very early and be sneaky and quiet while doing my stuff.
A couple years later thanks to the disastrous real estate market in FL we were able to buy a pretty big house for less $$ than we had bought the condo for a couple years earlier. One of the best feelings in the world was having my own garage for the first time. The house actually has 2 garages (mine is a 2 car garage) and wifey has a 1 car garage.
Anyways enough for the intro, onto the pics. Again i'm just going to dump a bunch a pics in showing the various things i have in my garage. The idea is that maybe you see something that gives you a good garage idea or if you see something you know is very useful is missing then speak up and post pics and recommend it as well.
THis is my mini dump site for left over pieces of stuff.
Dog washing station
Ghetto new wall outlet with ghetto christmas lights system
Yup, the "rare" 8.5in gunmetal ones. Love those things
Most of the stuff that comes off the car when i'm modding ends up here (pre-cats, S/C removed parts, spacers, etc.)
The best tire shine i've come across. stays shiney, minimal sling, minimal dust accumulation.
Got this from a electricians work van ($50, can you believe that). I mounted it to the wall with tapcons and added some legs. Dont really trust it with too much weight though i try to avoid putting the heavier stuff on there.
A painters best friend (clothes hangers)
ANother dumping ground.
Guess how many times i banged the crap out of my head before i put this thing on.
Wifeys cabinets
I'm not really a fan of recycling, mostly because i'm sure the guy who picks it up thinks i'm a raging alcoholic. LOL
Work Table. Bought the kit online and made to size. I believe the kit costs about $60 but comes with heavy duty plastic parts you can use to make one incredible work table. Searched for a long time for cabinets on Craigslist and such...finally found it. Still gotta give them better use though.
Still hoping my nephew with autism will one day be able to play with the R/C Hummer i bought him a couple years ago #autismawareness
Adult beverages
Sure, i'll have one. Thx!
Idea a buddy of mine told me about.
Wifeys garage, haha
THis is a car picture section...
By the way here is how it looks with both cars in there. Its amazing how fast a 2 car garage feels cramped.
Last pics.....took these the day we walked the house looking to buy it. I guess my mess is better than the previous owners mess.
So once again just to recap. Feel free to comment (good or bad). Feel free to post up your before and afters. Feel free to get and give garage organization ideas. Lets see if this turns into a useful thread. Thx!!

This thread is turning into a garage build thread then?
Very cool...
Thanks for taking the time to share with us, Marco.
I'll share too.
After a stint in an apartment with zero garage and then a decade with 1 car...I knew I wanted at least 2. So that's what we have.

This weekend's mod, haha.
Actually i did do a decent mod but on my truck. I wanted the truck cargo lights to be brighter. I had already changed out the lights to led but i still wanted it brighter.
Here's how they normally look.
Here how mine look now.
Here is how i did it (thx for the tips Rockstar).
I do have a small mod coming up for the TL. All but one of my speakers are blown. Going to change them all out. My system is stock and i need to find the thread that recommends the best speakers to be used with the stock radio for best sound but easy swap....anyone rememeber this thread?

Honestly, I'd go with stock speaker replacement...have to be cheap enough to replace and they're designed to go with the stock amp etc. Take it from someone that went too far, don't.
Great work, I was going to ask you about how you did it. That worked out perfectly!

Uh Oh....i'm close to selling this sexy beast again. Just dont use it. Feel bad having such a nice car just be wasting away in the garage. Should be out and about enjoyed by some one who time and desire to fully enjoy. I think a For Sale thread is coming soon in the Black Market.
Dont have time or desire to part out so some lucky person will get it with EVERYTHING!!

Trust me, the money will tempt you...but once it's spent on a new sprinkler system or blender...you'll kick yourself in the ass for talking yourself into selling it.
Don't be dumb. I know a dumb guy that sold an S2000. He's dumb. Don't be dumb.

Damn this is a tough tough decision. I've been driving it more lately to help me make the decision. Let me tell you a bit more about my why im considering this.
I always said (and thought) i would keep this TL until it fell apart. Thats why i spent the money on the S/C. It a great car, still looks as good as any other car on the road today. BUT.... I'm barely using it lately. If i know i'm gonna make a few stops after work i take the truck (so much better to get in and out of...i've got back issues so this is important). If i know i may get some traffic i take the truck (auto vs manual). If i know i'm going to the gym or to play some basketball after work i take the truck (more space to change in and dark ass tint). If i'm going out with my wife i take the truck (so much more comfortable for us both). So in the end i am barely using the car. I use it if i'm going to do something nearby by myself on the weekend. And i use if ocassionally to go to work if none of the above apply. I rarely have time to mod it anymore because of work and family/life commitments (besides its in its peak in my opinion so not many mods needed at this point). So it just sits there day in/day out. Yes it is paid off (has been for a couple years). Yes it gets very good gas mileage (vs truck). Yes it looks smokin hot (at least i think so). BUT its just sitting in the garage.
So at this point the decision is whether to let is sit there or not. i am not strapped for the money right now....besides i have no idea what its currently worth. It wouldnt hurt to have the money sitting in my account especially as i change my job soon and take a pay cut but that its not an immediate need. Just hate seeing it garaged and not used.
So recently i've been considering keeping it for another year or two while i finish paying off the truck. Then once the truck is paid off (or closed to paid off) i could sell it and get another car that is more comfortable, automatic but still sporty so i would use it more often. Would consider something like a automatic 4G TL, Infinity Q50, Maxima SE, Lexus GS. ...all of these are reliable, comfortable japanese cars with a sporty feel.
Anyways thats where i'm currently at but i'll confess that i get closer (and farther) to selling day by day so who knows what i will want to do come tomorrow. Will keep you all informed.

Well, now that you elaborate. Easy decision.
Back hurts
Great Condition/Value now
You need the cash
It's just sitting.
You could probably get someone to pay you 11-14K if I had to guess at it's current state. Maybe more because the SC.
Family first...we can always have our toys later. Same reason I got rid of the S2000. I needed the money more than I needed 2 vehicles for a 5 mile commute to work.
It's a no brainer. TL goes.
