So I got a new Galaxy Note 4, and I also picked up this iOttie mount for it:
Problem is, I don't really want it in the windshield, but I can't decide on a better place to mount it (besides the obvious top of the dashboard). Anyone have this and a good spot to put it?

Maybe on the left side of the windshield? Kinda low like a HUD on some of the newer cars?
Good idea, I might get that being that my stupid Navi is broken.

Shoulda thought of that beforehand. Gotta deal with the consequences now.
I was trying to avoid the windshield, but I might give it a shot. I have the CD-player mounted one already, which is good, but not perfect. Kinda comes loose every now and then. I like that I don't need to route a power wire all over though since its right in the center console.
And if my navi was broken but the radio still worked, I'd probably just leave it at this point. Google Maps on my phone is so much better anyway, and no costly updates.

Exactly. That's my thinking for the next car I get. No navi!!
I'm either going to just say eff it and fix it down the line or get myself a tablet. Looks like a ton of work though. :/

Yea Yea Yea, I suck. I should start coming around more. Had the itch again and test-drove something, but I don't think I'll end up going forward with it. Gotta stick with more important priorities.
Anyway, I really gotta get rid of these brakemotive brakes. Trying to decide what route to take, thought I'd get some opinions.
Option #1: Stoptech Blanks
Acurazine Brake Packages - Excelerate Performance - Japanese and European Performance Specialists!!
Option #2: Duralast Gold Rotors/CMAX Pads
Option #3: Brakeperformance.com Slotted Rotors/CMAX Pads
Premium Dimpled and Slotted Brake Rotors
I just do regular Daily Driving, nothing crazy. Looking for smooth performance and low dust. All options end up priced fairly close in the end.

So I'm thinking I'm going to do some Centric premium blanks and the duralast cmax pads. But I noticed centric has premium rotors and high carbon alloy rotors. Anyone know if the high carbon are a good idea or worth the premium price?

Less brake dust is a VERY good thing.

Well, hard to believe, but I've officially had the TL for 3 years now. Started the journey at 17K, and I've put almost exactly 40K on since then.
Celebration isn't too exciting, but today she is going in to have the A-spec/Blizzak combo mounted, along with all new rotors and pads, a brake fluid flush, and a new serpentine belt. Come spring-time I'm thinking I'll do another 1x3, oil change, and coolant flush.

What'd you opt for, Kurt? I say keep the stock brembo blank rotors...even the ones I switched to (might be the brand you mentioned) gives me shudder from high speed stopping.
I will say that the cmax gold, you can't go wrong with...lifetime warranty including wear. You cannnnotttt beat that. I know, I swap them out every time I inspect. Fuck it...

I went with the Centric High-Carbon Alloy rotors all around and the CMAX pads. Had everything installed today, and it all looks and feels just fine. None of the noise or shudder I had with the Brakemotive, so that's a great thing. Love that warranty too, I'll never pay for pads again on this car!
Is it weird that I almost want it to snow now, just to test out the Blizzaks?? I'll get some quick pics in the next couple days, they are beefy AF. Wider actually than I'd prefer for snow tires, but the price was right, and I probably would've only gone down 1 size to 235 anyway. Can't imagine that will make a world of difference.

January 1st will start my 7th year with my Type S-the longest I've ever owned any car. I had 600 miles on it when I bought it-I just turned 86,000 miles.

Damn Steven, 7 years. Something tells me I'm going to get there too. I can never justify/come to grips with giving up the TL.
So we finally had a little bit of warmer weather the last two days, and I got one last hand wash in while it was about 45 degrees out before putting all the wash stuff away for the winter.
The a-specs are back on, and I have the same feeling as I usually do when I get them on - why do I even have other rims?? I really love the way they look on the car. Oh yeah, brakes seem just fine too, haven't driven much on them yet, but so far so good..
Snapped a couple quick phone pics on my Note 4, including one of the beefy tread on these blizzaks.

Man, from the sounds of it, I'm still a damn newb with this thing at only 3 years.
And J - the tire/tread is serious enough that with these tires I clear my driveway without scraping the plastic air dam! I was ready to raise the car up a bit just to avoid that, but problem solved for the time being.

Yeah, between 70 miles of commuting a day in snow and then sub-zero weather...things got gross.
And GP - Once things get a little warmer, I'll finally toss that spoiler on!

Nothing interesting happening with the car lately since the weather has been so terrible, but took a few pictures of our German Shepard playing in the snow after the blizzard that came through this past weekend, so I may as well post those up.
