Yeah the shoot is at noon. underst8 I am counting on your professional skills and for the camera :thumbs up: I will do what ever I can with my point and shoot and then pick the best out. Hope its sunny!

Josh and I were talking about the plan for the night. I was under the impression that we are meeting Friday night at the strip?! And then again on Saturday for the photo shoot. Some optional night shots?
Friday night was who ever wants to show up kinda thing, but if most of us are willing to go we can set up something and roll together. What do you think how should we do this? Friday night and then Saturday noon?

Well, it looks like our dreams of it being sunny are pretty much squashed, rain is likely. Personally, I think a rain shoot could be pretty cool. I know the lighting is better if it is cloudy.

T&Y isn't handwash. I go there often and thought they were -- they're definitely hand-dry/detail, but they run through an "automatic softcloth" in the back. I'm going to continue to go there, but I just wanted to get that news out so no one feels suck. Sorry for the false info.
I'll still be there at 11:30, but I hope to see even the hand-wash only folks at noon.

it's 25%. i didnt think you could get pulled over soley for tint. i thought they had to pull you over for a moving violation. but he said it was considered faulty equipment. any ideas? can i contest this?

The law in Minnesota is no more than 50% on any window. Most cops I have spoken with don't really care what you have on the rear windows as long as the fronts are less than 50%. When I got my ticket, they basically said that my options were to pay the ticket... or pay the ticket.

TL-ed, I get the middle tier wash and usually leave having paid $10 plus a buck or two tip the the actual guy wiping the crap out of the crevices in my wheels. I've tried four or five different semi-manual washes in the twin cities and these guys are my favorites, but I can't assert they're particularly great or anything.
$10 seems about worth it to me when I can't find the time to handwash at home, but then again I'm the chump who pays someone to swap in his winter tires.

$10 ain't bad for a semi-manual wash as long they don't leave scratches/swirl marks on the car. I will see you guys at 11:30 then

No matter what the law says, a cop can pull you over for whatever he/she wants to and then decide once you're on the side of the road what he's going to get you for. That said, I do believe that it is completely legal for them to pull you over fo any infraction, be it seatbelt, tint, broken tail light, whatever.

Does that go in your record? I mean if you get pulled over again would they know you already got a ticket for tint? If its your neighborhood that cop will most likely see you driving around with the tint still on but I thought troops are usually the only ones pulling you over just for tint.

It would be like a parking ticket in that your license does come up that you have received the ticket, but it will not affect any insurance rates.
So, theoretically, they could see you driving down the road, run your plates, see that you received a ticket for your tint, notice that you still have it, and then pull you over and write you again.
I did a ride-along with the Mpls Police dept and you would be surprised at how often they are running plates. It is almost non-stop and anything can make them key to you and run your plates. Most often if they dont find anything they dont bother you, but you would be surprised at how many people are out there driving around with warrants. This is how they find those people.

You just have to contact the Inspector for the precinct that you want to ride along in, and then work with them to schedule it. There is info on the Minneapolis Police Dept web site that talks about it.
I chose to do mine in Precinct 1, sector A which includes first ave and all the bars and clubs. It was really cool and interesting to do. I did it because I thought it would be a good way to find out what kind of neighborhood I lived in. Since I have moved I have not done another, but I am in sector B now and want to see what this area is like.
