Extended Warranty at 50k or not
At 49k, would you buy an extended warranty to cover you until 70k for $2,200? I got a price from Bob at Hyannis Honda for $1,650. Still not sure if this is worth it or not. I bought the car in August. I know the propeller shaft and something else that's common with AWD was replaced. I have not had any problems with the 12,000 miles I have put on it.

Sorry, I meant 5/120. So for 70,000 more miles till I reach 120k the best deal I found is for $1650 by Hyannis honda in MA. Both closest Acura dealerships were quoting 2,300.

I would get everything that people list as an issue fixed (propellor shaft, anything else...search around) prior to warranty expiring.
And after that, its up to you. I feel confident nothing else is going to go wrong with my TL for another 100k so when my warranty expires at 62K or so, I'm not buying anything else. But I have a track record of good history with TL's. Plus I only drive manual so tranny is never a concern. Ultimately, up to you.

Queen of SH-AWD
I purchased my extended warranty at 40k miles for my 2010 TL SH-AWD.
I must say it has covered ALOT of random issues already.
Keep in mind, the price is ALWAYS negotiable.
My dealer settled on $1300 for Acura Care to 80k. (no deductible)
I was even able to finance it for no extra charge. (My dealer uses SPP ; Service Payment Plan Inc out of Chicago)
When it comes to all the electronics etc..I'd rather have that piece of mind.
Others may feel different, but those are my two cents.

so, does the dealership have to check the car first or anything to make sure its in good condition before buying the extended warranty? Im at 48k now and im thinking about buying one as well.
I'm also sorta worried about them giving me a hard time for changing my suspension and wheels...
anyone have any info or prior experience with this?

What random issue did it cover?

You should check out Acura Care extended coverage beyond the original warranty to see if they can get you the AcuraCare warranty for cheaper. I'm still on the fence about getting the warranty, my car only has 28k miles and I'm covered for 62.5 for my bumper to bumper and 100k for my powertrain since it's certified.
I had the AcuraCare warranty on my 2008 TL and I don't feel like I got my moneys worth for it. It did fix a lot of random things such as a squeaking belt, defective remote control and new motors for the side view mirrors, but all those things I felt like I could have easily fixed myself for free/very cheap.

Yeah, I had it on my 2008 TL and once I was over the 100k marker stuff starting going wrong. However I had a squeaky belt and Acura Care doesnt cover it.

I am on the fence about this myself. I'm at 47,000 miles, but I bought CPO so I'm good until 62,000 for everything except trim & maintenance items, and 100,000 for powertrain.
I got quotes from Hyannis, College Hills Honda, Curry and Saccucci.
Hyannis and Saccucci were the same, Curry wanted about $200 more than them. Saccucci offers six month financing and you can purchase online - Hyannis told me that they don't have the six month payment plan because they'd have to raise their prices. (So how does Saccucci do it, then, since they're the same price?) Anyway.

Bob Leab at Hyannis (774-470-4075) has the best price that I could find. Very easy to work with. Completed the process in less then 30mins and had my documentation within a week or so. Highly recommend.

Thanks for the comments! I did get in touch with Bob @ Hyannis and he had the best deal. All of these dealerships locally do not even offer AcuraCare any longer. Charlotte has their own Hendrick Autoguard, Greeville has their Zunich. I decided since I've had the car I have not had one single issue with it. I bought with 36k. I have decided that since I change cars so often, the extended warranty would be a waste of money.

No problems other than the random rattle, etc - all things that wouldn't be covered by AcuraCare anyway.
I am with the previous poster - I bought at around 30k miles and have not had any issues so am really on the fence as to whether AC would be worth it or a waste, since the car has thus far been solid.

Do you guys think modifications to the exhaust system (HFPCs and Jpipe) void the AcuraCare warranty or any extended warranty??
I think my dealer told me that my car was covered with AcuraCare until 80k miles. Bought it with 14K and currently have ~30K
