^^ the mirror itself most definitely will take some getting used to -- agreed likely more than the reflection of the vent on the window....

On my last test drive of the car the most annoying thing about the side mirror isn't the reflection or the funhouse portion, it was the size and position of the mirror itself. I noticed when I was making a left turn onto a feeder road and I went to check out how far I was from the curb, all I could see is the mirror I couldn't spot the front of the car and how close I was to the curb. The mirror sits pretty low. Maybe this was some aerodynamic thing, or cuts down on wind noise, but it is in a odd position.

It may be a deal breaker for me. I find the car very comfortable and quick, but if something that obvious slips quality control it really bugs me.

Given this issue, I wonder how many people would opt for a same color trim instead of the faux metallic trim. I think it makes the car look cheap - like someone from NJ wearing a track suit and a chain decided to do the interior decorating.

LOL, my dealer is aware of the unusual position of the mirrors. Went to leave the parking lot on my test drive. But couldn't see how close I was to the curb. Brand new diamond cut wheels with a nice little gash on the rear one when I hit the curb. Ouch!

I think it's a little harsh to say this is a deal breaker because it slipped by quality control! A lot of vehicles have the same issue with the reflections in the window, including my 3G. It's just more obvious due to the silver trim around the vent. I won't called this a quality control issue, it's a design issue. And I dare say it would be difficult to fix totally, as how does one prevent reflections off a nice shiny surface like a clean window?
The mirror seems small, so that in of itself is going to concentrate reflections in a smaller area making it harder to see through!
Acura is aware this is an issue and will likely look into what can be done to address.

By not using a reflective trim on the vent.

Cell Phone Photo of Reflection

Photo taken from phone yesterday. It reflects off the inner surface of door glass.

Reflects vent bezel chrome, lower IP trim chrome around wood grain and at times the end of turn signal stalk because it has a silver cap on the end.

At night the same detail reflects from the glass as you pass under some street lights.

I also would feel horrible. I felt it today in my TLX test drive.

My local Mazda dealership is notorious for wrecking Mazdaspeed3s during test drives.

The local Audi dealership wrecked a customer's car and gave them the old F you.

I doubt tinting will help. My Q50 has no reflection with the windows down.

But with the tinted windows up, you can see some reflection if you lean back. Good thing under normal driving, I cannot see that much reflection.

Nope didn't feel horrible at all. The second I touched the curb I was ticked off and thought this better be a good ride as it's costing me!
The dealer actually thanked me for showing him what I had done, apparently a lot of people hid this sort of issue.
I just asked what it was going to cost, he said nothing mistakes happen. And thanks again for reporting it so that others in the dealership will not be blamed for the damage.
I don't get too excited about anything that can be fixed with $$, as that is the small stuff in life!

Does anyone know the part number for the center console vents? I tried to look on the diagram but I just can't find them. I found the outer ones by the door.

OUTLET ASSY., CENTER *NH690L* (PREMIUM BLACK) - 2015 ACURA TLX (77610TZ3A01ZA)

Looks like the part with the vents are all one piece. Google the part number above for a schematic.

All, I found this UHUD reflection extremely annoying on my test drive of the TLX.

Just for anyone searching this subject, the solution from Acura is outlined in this ServiceNews article - http://www.urvi.net/forumfiles/SN/B14120C.PDF

Part numbers for the black assembly are as follow -

Side Outlet Assembly – Right 06772-TZ3-A00ZA
Side Outlet Assembly – Left 06773-TZ3-A00ZA

Interesting. Are they free for customers? Also, I wonder how the black will contrast with the other silver pieces inside.

I tried to wrap only the silver portion but failed. So I did this instead.

2018 rdx adv fwd

My friend pointed out to me the reflection of the vent trim and now it’s all I can do not to notice it. I’m glad I’m not the only one! I’d really like to vinyl wrap them but not sure how to remove them. Does anyone have any experience with that on a 2018 RDX? I’ve tried to search youtube and everything without any luck. :/

Just take it off and plasti dip it. It's easy and not permanent and usually looks better than a novice trying to vinyl.

musuc. Don't think it would be much of an issue. If you'd like, you could tape off the sides where the seems would still be flush after.

Also, I'd just look into ordering a spare vent trim piece and paint it so it would look more matte like it came like that OEM, then just put the shiney one back in when you want it stock again.

How do you suggest me taking off these vents? I couldn’t find any videos on this and afraid I’ll break them trying to take them out.

Get a plastic trim popper tool kit. They sell them at Harbor Freight for like $10.

There may not be any on the RDX specifically, but you can search for videos of other Honda/Acyra models for examples as the clips are likely similar.
