Intake noise

Intake noise
So my friend installed a K&N intake on his rdx but I was wondering if their is a way to make my car sound the same with the stock intake? Is there a resonator that I could remove connected to the intake because I have seen other Acura's that have them. You can hear the induction noise more with the aftermarket intake.

the days of "crushing" a bpv or removing some of the honeycomb to fool the maf are long gone. if your going to own a $30,000.00 suv it deserves to have good fabrication work and or parts. the intake can be made with less money spent on the parts. however if you don't own a welder then your better off buying it off the shelf.

The entire intake system is basically a tube connected to a giant box with a flat filter, connected to another tube, connected to the turbo. The combination of the giant box and the tube that reaches down toward the wheel well is likely responsible for the mostly muffled sound of the intake.
Yes there are hacks you can do to increase noise, but as the Wrench said you're better off not doing any permanent mods and just buying an intake to replace the stock system. Don't like it, go back to stock and sell it for 2/3 of what you paid.

tomtwtw - practical guy. I must say. My 2011 is still stock and just got the first oil change since buying it 1 year ago. $89 at the dealer. Probably will do it myself after that. Two upgrades I know I will do are the CPE intake, and Hondata Flashpro. I know, should have done them a year ago, but not primary vehicle yet. Have only put 5K miles on it in a year. Darn 2004 Saturn Vue, why do you keep on running so flawlessly.......
