It sure is purdy.
New exhaust hangers will be put on tomorrow to (hopefully) cure the horrible rattle.

TBT to a few years back.
Week 1: took the car to autobahn CC. High curbs. Lots of fun. Weeeeee. Diff started making clunking noises on U turns tho....
Week 2: I thought my diff was doomed. So...I was launching the car at 8000RPM with an exedy hyper single clutch and 265mm Direzza Z1's. Diff held together but the clunking got louder.
Week 3: went to gingerman. Oversteer like a ma'fucka!! Decided to just roll with it instead of trying to go fast (see vid). So much drifting and laughing all day.
https://youtu.be/3FX5Y7Cz95Y
Week 4: Car was on a lift for someghing else...and my friend was INCREDIBLY alarmed that my diff smelled like burning and was the split was just locked up. No limited slip. Both wheels just pretty much locked together.
I guess it over heated at some point at week 1 and locked up. Man...I was having so much fun. New diff is all fucntional and shit....

I really wish there was a full on road course in San Diego, but all we have is AutoX.
While I enjoyed AutoX, nobody wants to stand out in the sun for 2-3 hours to pickup cones between heats

Aren't there several tracks in SoCal? Closer to LA? Willow springs, Chuckwalla, Thunderhill(?), Buttonwillow...

Trailering the car out there would be ideal, but my S is my daily and I don't exactly have a trailer & healthy enough truck to do that kind of haul.
One day my ninja, one day.

do they have tracks in Mexico? you are only a few miles away from there
#9060
The real problem with those tracks is the distance - Chuckwalla is 200mi each way, Buttonwillow is 250mi

I had to once drive back with a bent spindle from smacking a track curbing lip sideways.
The only time in 10 years that my car has been on a trailer is after crashing it at Autobahn CC. But that was only 25-30 miles away...and my friend was a CC member...and he had a trailer there...and my other friend was (is) a body builder...so to everyone's amazement, he was able to hold the RF wheel straight as I drove the car onto the trailer. The car had a broken steering rack. I'm pretty sure all the girls (and guys) were swooning hard.
The trick really is to just not crash hard or break your shit

Yeah. GMAN is about 160 miles away. I drive there and back all the time.

If I had a daily, the S would be dedicated for weekend shenanigans but I don't ball that hard.
What I bolded couldn't be anymore true ... my first track day (ever) was at Chuckwalla and I spun it doing about 50mph and hit the run off. Thankfully, the run off is all sand and I only tweaked my steering wheel position / alignment.
My car is getting old and while I have the upmost confidence in Honda reliability, I feel something is gonna go sooner or later ...and I'd rather not be 200-250 miles from home when it does.
I'm a pussay.

As long as its taken care of, though, miles shouldn't really matter. There's plenty of 150+K mile S2000's that are rollin OUT on fools still.

I gotta say, for 156k, there's really no signs of a serious mechanical failure on the horizon which leads me to believe that feeling is mostly paranoia.
- Differential is stout (fluid changes every 30k)
- Transmission shifts relatively smoothly when cold, buttery when warmed up.
- Engine burns no coolant, burns very little oil, sparkplugs pulled 10k ago had even & normal residues.
Next valve adjustment, I'm certainly going to get a compression test to see how she's really doing. Last time I had it checked was when I first bought it 2 years / 50,000mi ago, she did a consistent 200 over all cylinders

Mine has 80k total.
10 years of track and street use.
Drove from IL to CA and surrounding states in the mid summer on 3 track day old Castrol GTX. 80-90MPH across the whole country.
Over rev'd hard once at the track. Full throttle. 90+mph into 2nd. WHOOPS. Finished the entire Friday-Sunday weekend. Had to replace the head a YEAR later because the slightly bent valves ate away the seats. Car still ran fine. Just didn't make great power and threw a misfire CEL a YEAR later while I was at the tail of the dragon...on the way back from an east coast road trip.
Etc.
I burn like a quart every 2-3k miles. Runs fine. Original bottom end. 220psi across.
Indestructible.
But...blow up, rinse, repeat, if it comes down to it.

It seemed that the new exhaust hangers cured the horrible rattle! I can just slightly hear it around 15-20mph in second gear, but it's SO much better than before. The hanger on the left side was pretty beat and I think the newer, more rigid hanger helped push the system down and away from the crossmember.

Chip had a different resonator welded in, my guess is that it was done ON the car and fitment was slightly altered to fit his car which may have differed slightly from Tylers.
I'm so happy for you, looking forward to some vids.
I'm still madly in love with my Milltek.

I used to have a catless T1R 70EM dual that I loved for 4 or 5 years. By the time I sold it, I was wearing earplugs to drive places and I hated driving my S2000. So I went back to stock.
I was kinda digging my stock exhaust for a while.
Then I started missing being able to startle fools who were either blocking me or not paying attention . It was a non verbal way to say that the only pain I got time for is the pain I put on fools who don't know what time it is.
With my stock exhaust, my life partner said my car sounded dumb AF and asked me if I was some kind of goddamn asshole to drive some bitchass shit like that.
I was like...damn. And I let a single tear roll down my cheek to show her that I felt pain for once in my life.
So I got a T1R 70EM single and left the cat on. I always wanted a single anyway.
