neuronbob's 2014 Cleveland Auto Show pix...lots of pics
I went back to using my T4i for this one. I had my Google Glass as well, but wanted to share better images. A few of them are blurred, so please forgive my newbness with the SLR. I'm learning still, so don't shoot me.
I love the Detroit show mostly for the exclusives that often don't make it to Cleveland.
The Cleveland auto show is much better because there's more to do at the show. At the this show, multiple manufacturers have outside test drives....all the GM makes, VW, Mazda, Chrysler, Ford did test drives. Jeep had an indoor ride course. At the IX Center, there's an indoor Ferris wheel as well that's present year-round. On top of that, it is much less crowded than the Detroit show as it's on more square footage. I wish manufacturers did more exclusives here, but Cleveland is considered a backwater nowadays, I guess. On to the (many) pictures....
Very crowded line to get in. Online ticket sales crashed, so everyone had to stand in line. FTL.
TLX "interior"
TLX
RLX Sport Hybrid. This is a different color from the one I saw at Detroit.
RLX HUD--faint and it was HARD to get the camera to focus on it. You can see the volume on it if you are changing it, and selection of audio.

RLX HUD can be adjusted vertically or in brightness.
More RLX Sport Hybrid
How to bring up power distribution screen on the RLX Sport Hybrid. Press "info" on the center console and you bring up this screen:
RLX Sport Hybrid blind spot monitor
RAM Truck stand and Jeep indoor driving course from the IX Center's Ferris Wheel stand, about 20 feet above the main floor. Nice views from there!
Top of the Ferris Wheel offers views of the Cleveland Airport. This is the new control tower that's being completed. Too bad it's going to be mostly unused when United pulls its Cleveland hub in June. Good riddance, they have awful service compared to what was Continental, anyway.

OK, back to the cars....
Done-up Crusher Corolla
Mini Cooper S Paceman

Mini Cooper Convertible
Lincoln MKC
SRT Viper
Chrysler 200 on pic and car
Dodge Durango
Chevy SS. Too bad it's missing a man pedal. The interior is CHEEEEEP. You'll be pressing the accelerator too hard to care.

Corvette Z06 with Z07 package. I saw this in Detroit too, but here in Cleveland, it was easier to get close to it for detailed pics.

As part of the Cleveland auto show, there's also a very large gathering of classic cars. Here's just a few that caught my eye.
1956 T-bird
1961 Corvette
1912 Sandusky truck
1925 White; used as a national park bus
1920 White; used as a delivery truck
1949 Chevy truck
1969 Mustang
1978 Ford LTD police car. This car started out as a sheriff's car in Michigan, and was brought to late 70's CPD spec. Mayor Perk apparently wanted the police cars to have higher visibility at the time. Um, OK.....
I came out of the car show to find this beauty parked next to my V wagon :

Objectively, was the 200 terrible or just not something that interests you? Same for the Mustang? That's not the best wheel choice.
That ATS coupe. Jesus, what was GM thinking. It's a Cadillac Solara. Who the hell is going to buy that?

Great shots!
I'm very torn on the Mustang.. I'll just have to see it myself. I missed my local auto show due to inclement weather this year.

Great pictures Bob! It's good to see the close ups of the new ZO6/ZO7. The old T-Bird pics were great too.
Next week, the KC Auto Show comes to town. I'll try to get some shots of that, like yours.

The ATS coupe looks like a mid-90's Honda Accord coupe with slightly harder edges. I'm sure it will sell, but I agree with you.
I did the variety because everyone here knows what a McLaren 12C looks like, or an E55 AMG or IS-F for that matter. The Cleveland show has such a variety of cars, and the oldies show is something I look forward to every year. Maybe in 20 years I'll be showing my V wagon in the classic car show. Glad you like!
Me, too.

Thanks for the shots. I'm in the minority that likes the new Cherokee. Saw a Trailhawk this morning & think it looks nice.

Yeah, awesome pics. I absolutely loved that '69 Mustang, favorite vintage of that car. I'm on the fence about the F Type R Jag.

But seriously, when you try the shifter, it is eerily intuitive. It simply makes sense when you are touching it.

As a Cadi owner what do you think of the ATS coupe? Personally I was underwhelmed by it... it looks kind of plain.

It's really why I felt like it was a huge miss. It's more of an E-Class coupe than say an A5/435i coupe. Maybe it'll sell really well. It just looks like a 2-door sedan. Really has no sports car aspirations at all.

Then again, i love the "out there", "pissed off" styling of the 2G CTS I own. It looks like it's pissed off that it has to actually carry people. The ATS coupe looks like a mid-90s Accord coupe. I liked the Accord coupes of the time, but this is not what I expected of Cadillac.
