Resurrect old thread? Check.
Post random Acura picture? Check.
It's Acura's new viral marketing campaign. Unfortunately for them, their intern looked up pictures for "attractive Acura" and found vehicles from ten years ago.

the body kit appears to have required considerable work so that may explain the cost - but the cost is probably inflated a tad

I agree but aftermarket means little to nothing in selling the car.

i put a lot of time and effort when i install my CAI... ROI is negative.

buuuuttt... this car has only 1365 miles on it. So it is likely being sold as "new". So it is being sold as a new car, with this bodykit on it. A special like that can have this kind of premium on it.

This is how companies like this "Progressive Motorsports LLC" used to do it back in the day. Build special custom models and then sell them for very high prices.

BMW poaches Audi quattro MD to lead M division - Motoring Research

BMW M GmbH will get a new chairman from 1 January 2015, with Franciscus van Meel taking over from retiring chief Dr. Friedrich Nitschke.

The appointment is notable because van Meel, 48, joins BMW after leading Audi’s quattro GmbH division – and has not even joined BMW Group yet: his first day is 1 October.

Van Meel has worked at Audi AG since 1996, in chassis development and technical management, becoming MD of quattro GmbH in 2012.

However, earlier this year, van Meel was reportedly stood down from leading quattro and reassigned to Audi’s Chinese division, after rumours emerged of a fallout with Audi development boss Ulrich Hackenberg over the direction of the new Audi R8. It seems BMW has taken advantage of Audi’s internal strife and poached the former rising star.

It’s a fond farewell for Nitschke, who’s worked at BMW Group for 36 years. He worked up through the company and first came to the public eye in 2007 when he took over vehicle development for MINI. In 2011, he became BMW M GmbH Chairman, creating the BMW M Performance Automobiles division and also leading the new turbo V8 M3 saloon and M4 Coupe.

Dr. Herbert Diess, Member of the Board of Management for Development, said: “The position of M GmbH on the market has never been better in the company’s history and it continues to achieve sales record after sales record.

“Friedrich Nitschke has done outstanding work over the past years and has made a crucial contribution to the success of the company. The entire Board of Management of BMW AG would like to express its gratitude to him.”

At first I was like, wow, they're still using iron blocks eh? But it only weighs 3300 lbs! Then I saw the specs... it's small.

But ah, the deal-breaker. No manual available.

That quarter mile number is pretty crazy. That torque plus AWD.

That car must be fun to drive.

And interested in $600 tune numbers.

Would be a heck of a sleeper with just a tune. That highway mileage is a little disappointing for a car so small, though. Downsides of AWD.

I talked to my dealer today and the car is now considered a "SOLD ORDER" which will have my name on it and expedite the process.
He does not yet have a VIN and his update tracker shows 20% which, from what I understand, means that it is currently being manufactured or some iteration thereof.
30% means product available
40% means in transit
50% means at receiving port
60% released to carrier
70-100% is transit to dealer, dealer prep, and taking ownership....

Would LOVE to hear 40% when I hear from him next week.

I posted the above over at TDIclub and the dealer that is on that site found the order. He has been very helpful to me (and several other forum members) answering questions and tracking vehicles.

I would seriously consider one if MT was available.

I mean, come on. Audi offers it on the S4 but not the S3?

MT would have been really nice on a small rocket like that.

and, it just sunk in that it's making 292 hp and 280 torque from a 2.0L 4-cyl turbo!!! that's some output!
