You have plenty of room to access the buttons on top of the RD, at least on the Escort models. The Blendmount mirror mounts can be tipped down a bit if you need more access.

I did receive a couple of new pieces this week and they have a collar on the mid-section, which appears to be used to keep the mount away from the mirror so you can adjust the mirror. One issue I pointed out (probably confirmed) to the J28 team is the original mounts could interfere with mirror adjustments due to the design of the TLX mirror stem which is very slightly tapered towards the mirror. I think the collars are an attempt to keep the mount away from the mirror.

So with the new pieces received, does it change the way it looks compared to what you posted?

Now that you have tested, and found that the mount works, has the design now been finalized?

Hey, I have attached a few pics of the mount that I posted a little while back that uses 3M tape. Its pretty good and looks nice, but there is a pretty big gap between the radar detector and the mirror. Its not that big of a deal, and it looks much better than the suction cups and it was only $35. I think the price makes it worth it, BlendMount makes an amazing product and I have had one for 5 years but they are a bit pricy, but they are for sure made better and have more adjustment options. For now this will do.

The Blendmount mirror mounts for the Tech and Advance frameless mirror is now available. The Blendmount part number for this mirror mount is BMX-2031 and J28 (the company who makes these) identifies this mirror as the ACU-008 mirror. I received my new production unit this week, so I know they are shipping. Please remember, this mount is only for the new Acura frameless mirror. The link to this mount is listed below.

Just want to thank @ssfntv for his photos and instructions on the hardwire install. I ordered the blendmount mount, and it fits 99% perfectly except it may restrict you rear view adjustments very slightly. The minitap "add a circuit" idea is fantastic and I was able to buy this part at the Advance Auto Parts. Took me a while to attach the grounding wire from my MirrorTap kit. Additionally, the method of tucking the wire into the headliner and running down the air bag pillar down to the fuse box is also very easy to do. My device is all set up and the install looks clean!
