Squealing noise when heater is on?
I have a squealing noise when i turn the heat on, didnt realize it was from the heater blower until i completely turned it off to try and pin point where the noise was coming from. Anybody else have this problem? everything seems to work fine just like the way it should but it is quite annoying.

I just started hearing the same thing myself. I only notice it when the fan is at very low speed. If I remember, I thought another member had mentioned this problem, and the squeak went away by itself. Since I do not try my Tl often I'm not sure if I still have the noise.

Thats because the noise IS coming from the fan motor. It could be a motor bearing or maybe the plastic around the fan motor had expanded because of the cold. I hope its not something that needs fixing.

Have you guys noticed if it makes more or less noise as you adjust the fan speed?
I ask because years ago my mother had a 2004 and then a 2008 MDX. On both of them the blower motor needed to be replaced and the noise you guys are describing sounds like it might be this.
Both times it was a real easy fix for the dealer. I hope this helps.

Anyone got this fixed yet? I took the cabin air filter out of my car and put my hand on the fan blade while turning. The noise stopped. I wiggled the fan blade around and the noise stopped for good this morning. Will have to let it sit over night and see if the problem is gone. If not, next step is to see if I can get to the spindle bearing and spray some lube on it.

If you spray in some lube, dust and tiny dirt will start sticking to the bearings, and may even make more noise.

You don't spray it into the fan. What I would do, is acess the fan and see if the spindle at the bottom of the motor ie exposed. I would then lube that part. Or if the motor comes out easy lube the top spindle as well. If the motor wa not under warranty, no way I would not try to lube.

My '05 RL is doing this now; I pulled the fan, blew out the dust from behind the fan and then sprayed some silicone lube back there. I really wouldve like to have separated the fan from the motor but didnt want to break the fan....will see tomorrow if this helped.

So this fix lasted til today, drove a few hundred miles since and today it was squealing away. Ill pull it out tomorrow and actually disassemble the blower and lube it up. Rockauto has replacement blowers for $42 may end up going that route.

anyone have a easy fix for this? all youtube vids looks like i would need to go under the glove box and replace the blower.
i did take out my cabin filter and wiggle plastic fan (also replaced the filter) it seems to quiet down a bit but i can still hear the squeaking sound.
