Performance

This is my first post and second Tl. I have 14 tl Shawd and want to jam it with performance. I don't want check engine lights, I want to notice the impact. I'm in Toronto I have a shop and not concerned about budget. I'd like to hear about the best mods and from people who have them installed. Can I get this elite up to 400?

I would recommend full exhaust system if you want sound too, ATLP or XLR8 .. If you don't want it to be loud but just performance than a j-pipe and ktuner

no.


spend $10-15k to turbo it and you'll hit your goal of 400hp.

I know you're just trying to help the newcomer, but this will only yield like 15hp.

I PMed you a set up we did yesterday. Like we have stated you will not get to your horsepower mark with just exhaust components but it is a start.

Head to your local tuner shop. They will gladly take your $10k and help you reach your goals

Personally, I'd be amazed if you pay a shop $10k and they come out with a custom built turbo setup with 100hp gain.

The supercharger kit alone for my S2000 was $7k and that was without tuning or any of the supporting mods (exhaust, header, etc) And that was with me doing the install of everything. Absolutely nothing custom to it.

You picked the wrong car if you want 400hp IMO.

I agree you picked the wrong platform for this. Go grab something equipped with a factory turbo that can be easily upgraded. Or grab a used Q50 and the Stillen supercharger kit that will get you up to 500hp.

Do they have J pipe without knocking out the 3rd cat on 2013 TL?
Also does anyone have a CT engineering ice box installled in a cold climate? Any problems with water ice or snow getting up into the filter area?

Yes there is jpipe that still keep the 3rd cat intact. However it is unmonitored so you wouldn't fail on emissions by removing it.

As for the CT icebox, Never had any issues sucking debris up, It still has a filter inside the icebox and the cone is protected by the splash guard. The problem is sourcing the Icebox unless you already know someone with it.
