2017 RLX Sport Hybrid Release Date
Curious if anyone has come across a release date for the 2017 RLX Hybrid. The Acura website says "Fall 2016."
My 2016 RLX Sport Hybrid is unfortunately no more but I am still alive thanks to the car. I tangled with a concrete barricade at about 60 miles an hour and the barricade won. Again I credit the car for saving my live albeit I've spent 24 days in the hospital since early October. I don't want anything but another RLX Sport Hybrid and hoping the 2017 isn't so far away that I can wait.
Appreciate in advance any input.

I have seen no specific date. But they are usually built after the initial batch or PAWS models for the US market.
The 2017 RLX SH will be unchanged from the 2016 MY. If you are willing to shop outside of your area, you will likely get a much better deal on a 2016 for the same car. Either year, the ability to choose color combo with trim level is not an easy process. Best you can do for a 2017 at this point in time, is get your dealer to have one in the build pipeline that matches your choices diverted to their allotment.
Glad you are OK. Just so happens on MSN.com today an Edmunds article was posted of the Safest 2016 Sedans, and the RLX made the list.

Assuming your wish to stay with Back / Black Advance, there are 12 listed in that config on Auto Trader. None in Texas....OH, IL, MO, NC, NJ, MA, MN, NH & CA. Your dealer likely will arrange an inventory trade and get it shipped to your local dealer.
If you are open to other colors, there are a 29 2016 SH Advance models nationwide on AutoTrader, These are the only new 2016 SH Advance in Tx:

Great to see you're ok LoneStar!
It is also great that the RLX did its job, and protected you!
I have not heard anything about the 2017 release date, but I would say February - March delivery.......

Glad to read you survived.
My first question upon reading this, as well. Of course, we don't know the circumstances of the incident in question. I'm sure Acura will be all over your car as soon as they can remove it from the clutches of your insurance company.
We have another month of fall, so if you want a 2017, you may be hanging on for a bit. I'd look at the 2016s currently afield as you may be able to procure at a much lower price.

I'm not sure I want to attach names to these photos, but they are from a violent accident involving a Honda Challenge acquaintance's family and an RLX P-AWS Tech.
They like LoneStar attribute their survival to the performance of the car's safety systems, and they went out and got another Acura.
I don't know whether you've cross shopped recently, but even to this day you will have to add and pay for rear airbags with most competitors. Rear side airbags are standard on every Acura I've looked at recently.
This accident was quite violent, high speed, with multiple high speed rollovers.

Considering especially the speed at which it rolled, yes, it did.

Glad you are out of the hospital and okay, LoneStar. Also glad to know you have enough confidence in the SH-AWD to want another. At least you will know exactly what you are shopping for. Keep us informed.

One reason I have stayed with mostly Acuras since 1990 was the performance of my wife's almost-new Integra, which protected her from a 45 mph T-bone from a 4-axle, fully-loaded dump truck towing a backhoe that ran a red light. The car was obviously totaled, but we went right out and got another. Ironically, when that car was about seven years old, it too was T-boned by a 16 year old kid who fell asleep at the wheel in the middle of the afternoon. My wife, our baby, our dog and I all walked away from the totaled Integra. I believe in Acura when it comes to safety!

I walked away from a multiple rollover accident at freeway speed, in my 1982 Honda Civic Coupe, back in 1990. I've been driving Honda products since then. I imagine I'd walk away from a similar incident in my Legend.

Frankly, I don't see any changes at all in the 2017 other than it is a 2017 rather than a 2016. At least Acura hasn't abandoned the RLX-SH as some have speculated but it also seems clear that the SH will continue to be a limited production car.
For those waiting to get a good price on a Sport Hybrid, now is probably an excellent time to seek out a 2016.

No surprises here. At least it's not gone.
