Insurance costs
#2
There are a number of factors that determine insurance costs. You are categorized by age, credit score, driving / accident history, marital status, and other factors. Then the average cost, claim number, and likely hood of accident are calculated and a price is determined. As for the car itself, it has a comparable number of safety and security features to other midsize luxury crossovers. This also depends on which trim you have.

If you are comparing RDX to the other luxury crossovers, the slight difference (whichever way it may turn) should not be a deciding factor on which car is best suited for you.

When you get quotes be sure to read the policies in detail to see what they actually cover. A lot of them have "thin" coverage, including some who advertise on TV. Cheap prices but just submit a claim and see what happens. We've had one of the Big Guys for a long time and though I'm paying more, the fine-print coverage is better.
The RDX should do very well in insurance rankings.

It's about 25% less to insure than my wife's 2017 Durango GT (granted that's a full size $46k MSRP vehicle), and the RDX is about 35% less than my prior car (2014 BMW 5-series). I can't imagine that any of the comparable vehicles would be materially less than the RDX, but insurance pricing has too many variables so you've got to grab a VIN from a dealer's web site and price it for yourself...
