Cmbs?

Lately I get "Warning: Approaching Object" in the MID every time I slow down and come to a stop. Anyone seen this? Is it the radar on the fritz?

I got it too recently on my 17 MDX, and it was snowing. I think the snow and temperature had some effects on it. The next start up didn't happen again though.

Bitter cold (Minnesota) but not snowing. And it's been doing it for three or four days now.

The radar unit, which is mounted behind the Acura logo is used for CMBS.

That message is normally associated with the ultrasound parking sensors mounted on the bumpers, but I don't recall ever seeing it on the MID, mine shows up on the NAV display. False alarms from the front sensors have been reported several times in the forum. I also had the problem when my 2016 was a few weeks old, back in the summer of 2015. The problem cleared up by itself after a couple of days, although in the last 1.5 years I have had a handful of momentary false reports.

Just to be certain, does your RDX have the parking sensors installed? i.e. The Advanced or Elite packages.

Parking sensors installed = yes. And it is the NAV --- sorry. Turning off the CMBS doesn't stop the warning message so what you say makes sense so far. I'll try turning off the parking sensors next. Very annoying.

The display on the NAV screen should show which of the sensors is producing the alert. Try cleaning that particular sensor.

I had the same problem during a snow storm last week. I had to turn it off.

I got it again with yesterday's snow here. I turned parking sensor off and then it went away.

That may have been caused by snow/road salt accumulated round the sensors and/or the radar unit.

I was experiencing the similar situation. Went for a car wash and it has been reduced to almost none.
