This is a better pic. Basically I am wondering if a +32 offset will look good?

Looks good InfamousJamous. I'm going with my same setup I have now; however, matte gunmetal finish with 275/40r20 all around. Still going to sport that 20x10.5 in the rear, that just gives the RDX the balls that it needs.

Thanks! Yea, I tested the limit's on how big and figured that 20x10 275 tire would be the max up front. I was running the 275 up front and 315 in the rear, now i'm running the same size wheels with 275 all around. I love the fact that I can fit a 10.5 in the back.

do you guys think there would be an issue fitting 20" dia. x 8.5 wide with 20 offset on the rdx?

I plan to get eibach's as well and don't plan on rolling my fenders.

hope you have a plan cause your spare tire is now unuseable. different OD.

You might as well take it out and save weight.

Or buy another wheel to match and get a used non-directional tire. Then if you curb the wheel you'll already have a good replacement (because manufactures run limited batches, it can be hard to find a replacement years down the road).

Hi all - New owner of '11 Tech (get it delivered next week). Have spent hrs reading all the wheel/tire threads I can find, but still need advice on a few things.
Really appreciate comments/advice/thoughts/suggestions!

1) I really REALLY want Enkei RT6 in 18 x 8.5 but only offset avail is "0". [26.1 lbs vs. stock at 26-27 lbs so that's good]

On another truck, had lots of inner wheel well cutting and some BFH work to make a +38 to a -2 work, so I don't mind doing some "rearranging", but with the brake/calipers or whatever is hanging out in the top of the front wheel well so close on the RDX, I can't figure out if this offset stands a chance of working or not when stock was +45?

2) First choice would be a little more "off-roady" look as I live in a very small rural area with lots of dirt roads. My fav tire of all time is Nitto Terra Grapplers. Smallest 18" they make is 255/60-18.

Diameter goes from 28.1" to 30" (6.7% taller)
Width goes from 9.3" to 10"
Weight: 36.5 lbs vs. stock 30 lbs. - 6.5lbs unsprung weight at each corner.

Think this wheel & tire combo stands a chance?

Next size is 20" x 9" (with +12 offset), but don't have correct bolt pattern of 5 x 114.3

  • First priority is to get the rims to fit, so if the Nittos can't work, then I'd pick a different tire that'd work.

  • Tread life isn't important, 20,000-30,000 miles would be fine.

  • Other tires I'd consider:

    1) Falken Ziex ZE329 in 235/55-18 - Me LIKEY this one ALOT!

    2) Cooper Zeon XST-A in 255/55-18

    3) Cooper Zeon RS3-S in 235/50-18 (like KenB350z has in 275/40-20)

    4) Falken Ziex ZE512 in 235/55-18

    5) Cooper Discoverer H/T Plus in 255/55-18

    6) Nitto CrossTek CUV in 235/55-18 or 235/60-18 (1" taller- work??)

Got the #2 from my short list above, the Cooper Zeon XST-a in 255/55-18 mounted up. A full 1" wider (9.3" vs 10.3" per Cooper's site) and .9" taller, and no rubbing. Nice meats! Has the widest sipes I've ever seen.
Pics to come soon.

Question

Sorry, too cold to wash the car to take pics....but soon. Love the tires, super sticky, and way cool looking.

Still want rims. Been looking at pics for hours.
Staying with 18", not lowering or lifting, don't want spacers.
After reading posts here, staying in the +20 or higher offset.
Unfortunately, think I still have to give up on the Enkei RT6 cuz they're 0 offset.....

But, found another rim, 18" x 9" (5 x 114.3, +25 offset) I really like.

My new Cooper XST-a in 255/55 are approved up to 9" width.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALLSTAR-sp5ive-18X9-et-25-GRAPHITE-FULL-MACHINE-5X114-HELLAFLUSH-LOOK-/161041533339?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Wheels&hash=item257ed2c99b&vxp=mtr

*** What will I be facing trying to get the 9" width to fit? What needs done, espeically up front? ***

If my calculations are reasonably correct...:
~ rim is 1.5" wider divided by 2 = .75" (= 20mm)
~ offset is going from stock +45 to +25 = 20mm difference
~ since the +25 offset brings the rim outward by 20mm, I think that ends up making the inner side of the new rim/tire set-up about net the same distance from the inner fender and shock housing.
~Essentially I widened the set up on the inner side by 20mm, but then pulled the rim outward 20mm, so I think it's a wash... yes????
~ What do I do with the FRONT wheel well? Can I the rear of the front well?

Thanks for info & advice. PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong above.

they look nice.. but i am sure they weigh a ton.. you dont need (truck) wheels to put on the RDX you can find other ones that will fit just fine..

Yeah, you're right, they're 30 lbs. For some reason I thought they were lighter. Isn't the OEM rim about 25-26 lbs?
I'm not specifically looking for a truck rim, just going by ones I like.
I've got 3 styles now I really like. One is 7.5", so that's easy. Other two are 8" wide........TBC....

All,

Nice looking RDX pics with aftermarket wheels. I should be picking up my 14 RDX in the next couple of days.

20" wheels might be in the 14's future.

looks good!, I've been trying to save up for some Black 20x10s with a 40 offset for a while now ( in college so it's hard to do haha). But interesting that you went with summer tires on it. I'm obsessed with the F10 M5 and those are to the tires that come on them and the forums have said very good things about them. They even have a warranty, which is rare for a summer tire!
