will the ZDX be the next CL coupe?
Back in 2002, I bought a sweet Acura CL coupe Type S. I loved the styling (not everybody did), the interior was very nicely done, and when the transmission was fully functional, it was quite fast! But....when family needs dictated selling it after 3 years, I found out there wasn't much of a market for 2 door coupes with unique styling cues.
Will the ZDX suffer the same fate? If yes, than those who bought instead of leased may face a downside when selling before 5 years. BUT....if you wait to buy when the 2010s start to come off of lease, there may be GREAT BARGAINS to be found!
Your thoughts? Maybe still to early to tell....but will be interesting to track.

1 Generation Wonder
I think that this may be a 1 generation wonder, not unlike the RSX. Granted, it may be a very long generation like the NSX or Honda Element.
Improving this car is tricky. Aesthetics has not been a big complaint so they cannot just make it look better like they are apparently doing w/ the 2012 TL. The problem seems to be more about utility which is inherent to what is: that fast back coupe thing or whatever marketing is calling it. If they fix the rear room & roof line .... voila, you basically have the MDX so I doubt that is going to happen.
Acura gambled on a very small niche segment & it does not seem to be working since the BMW x6 is outselling it.
On the flip side, I do hope that the ZDX sticks around bc it helps raise the luxury level of Acura. As is, they have 3 entry level vehicles (starts in the $30k range) so even if they do not want to be Tier 1 anymore, it is nice that they have 3 vehicles in the mid-level luxury range (~$40k range).

Three Wheelin'
I had both generations of CL. Afterwards, I bought an RL in 2005. In a way, getting a ZDX would be like a return to the CL for me. Another car that might work for me, even if it doesn't work for the majority. We will see. I'm not ready to get another car just yet.

For a moment, I was a bit concern about the resell value for my Z.
But looking out there on the market, I just do not see anything else (within my budget) that 'excites' me.
So I decided just to enjoy it.
Every time I drive it, it still makes me smile...

You're right, there will be some good deals for 2010 model ZDXs. The question is whether you want to get a car that is the first year of its kind EVER (not just the first year of a particular generation) and used.

I had an 01 CL-S. Never had the tranny issue, it did the recall at about 35K miles. I recently read that Honda is going to have a redesigned Crosstour to line up with the new Accord design.
Maybe TL and ZDX for 2014?

03 CLS 6mt owner here, tried to sell it 2 years ago but i took the ads down due to very low interest in car and winter was coming.....
i actually really love the ZDX and thought i might have it one day and i tought : i'd be repeating the exact same pattern as with the CL :
- low volume of sales, making it hard to shop a used one
- underrated/unknown vehicule that has its effect on price : bad for the seller, good for the buyer
one of my clients at acura had a CLS 6mt, he changed for TLS 6mt but it got stolen like 2 months after picking it up new.... he replaced with RDX but 2 years after, he drove off the lot with the ZDX.... i thought i had the same profile as that guy lol
