Transfer Fluid

Hi
I am planning to change the transfer fluid so I would like to ask what grade and brand are you using.

Hypoid GL4/GL5 90W. The only fluid the shop manual doesn’t specify should be ‘Acura’ brand, so any quality/name-brand should likely suffice. But, I always leave that chore up to the dealer, and have trans./differential/transfer case all changed simultaneously. Going by what they charge for that job, if they used 5 star French cognac it would likely be cheaper.

I am doing all three, transmission and differential are only one option (DW-1 and DPSF) to me, but I have read people using different types and brands of transfer fluid but l guess, like you said as long it is Hypoid GL4/GL5 Sae 90, it will be ok.

AMSOIL Severe Gear.

My bad, I actually used AMSOIL Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90.

I believe the severe gear version is just as well suited, just designed for a more severe environment, but I would call AMSOIL to get the specifics.
