So, 15K miles in......
So, 15K miles in......
Now that I feel I have logged enough time with my ZDX, I have a few observations
I was going to try to list the good stuff, but the truth is I will never get them all. It is nice, for the first time, to be this far into ownership of a new vehicle and have no real buyer's remorse.
Other than the battery warning bug I've started another thread on there are only a couple things I wish I could change.
HDD system - I love the capability. I've created approx 50 custom CDs that have ripped almost everything I want onto it and really haven't made much of a dent in the capacity. however, I can't understand why when I put in one of my CDs, it reads the CD-text, stores it in the database, displays it on the lower display and nav screen - BUT when you play back from the HDD you can only see the metadata on the nav screen, not on the lower display where you only get folder and track #.
Sun Visors. My 2001 MDX had a two part sun visor where you could turn one part out onto the side window and keep the other part facing forward. Not having this feature on my RDX didn't seem too troublesome, but I really seem to miss in on the ZDX. I'm assuming the shape/size of the glass makes it more problematic. I'm not much for putting in aftermarket parts, but would do so for this feature.
Lastly, i'm hoping the insurance adjusts in the next go-round. As mentioned in other threads on this board, 6 months ago we had the most expensive vehicle to insure. Hope the insurance company formulas have corrected that.
Otherwise, as I've said, its nice to not have any real complaints. I just hope they sell enough so that its not killed off in the second model-year.

I have 4,500 on mine and gotta say, I agree with you ok the no buyers remorse thing. Alhough I too have experienced the battery light, I'm perfectly satisfied with almost everything else. The only thing being the HDD. What I don't understand is why do we have to rip the songs from audio CDs, and can't just move files from a USB drive, or at least allow a DVD audio or mp3 cd. To me, it's not worth the hassle of burning numerous audio discs just to rip them into the car. I just plug (or connect via bluetooth) my iPhone in and listen to the songs I have on there. We have this wonderful 10gb hard drive and it's crippled with limitations.
I average about 16 mpg, but I do mostly city/ suburban driving....a lot of stop and go. On the weekends when I do a mix of highway and city, it can jump up as high as 20. I don't crack the 20 barrier too often though, haha.
My usual MPG is 9-10. My commutes is 1.5 miles one way, in Brooklyn, NY stop and go traffic. When I mix in a little highway driving I get 12-14 Mpg.
Yesterday I took the car to Atlantic City. 220 Miles of driving at 70-90 mph, averaged about 20.5 Mpg.
I'm not too worried about the low MPG - my commute has been the same for the past 7 years and all the cars I've had, had lower MPG then advertised.
Scion tC - I got about 20 MPG
Acura TSX - I got about 18 MPG
Acura TL-S - I got about 13 MPG
