Congrats and post your impressions!

First impressions - love everything about the car other than the tiny glove box. I think the umber interior is very unique and really striking. cell phones paired, contact lists transferred, and about 15 CDs ripped to the hard drive. Need to burn a few MP3 DVDs and I'll be ready for 1000 mile (each way) roadtrip I have later this month. Wasn't too warm today, but really like the ventilated seats and blind-spot indicators are less intrusive than I expected.

Not car related:

Dang the insurance is higher than the RDX I traded. Insurance agent says it probably because there are so few that a big claim would have skewed rates, and hopefully will resolve itself over time.

XM Radio - how can these guys be in business with their customer service. fortunately I only seem to need to call every couple years. Almost an hour into the call - still no joy on getting new radio on old account. Really a joke.

Congrats on your ride .. and I totally agree with the XM ordeal.. I had to call them back on both cars to get them to turn on the real time traffic and weather. Not that I would pay for either but its nice to see them in action.

Xm is ok but the ZDX has so many other forms of music I dont think ill keep it when the trial runs out. I have a 16Gig junk drive hooked up to the USB and have been RIPing CD's to the hard drive. XM's sound quality is poor especially after having the digital formats in the car.

Enjoy and post some pics of her

I've had XM about 10 years now. Its more about being able to find what you want on a cross-country trip, network news, or maybe the PGA tour channel when in the car on a Sunday afternoon, than it is about quality of sound.

I have been striking out on MP3 DVDs. I've been burning 5.1 DVD-A's for my RDX for 4 years, but it always bothered me I couldn't do MP3s on DVD. I'm 0-for-3 so far today. If anyone has had any luck, would love to know what you did. I guess I can just get a 16GB stick, but right now its the principle of the thing.

Did have the collision avoidance system kick in for an instant today when it really didn't need to. Will keep an eye on that.

I knew the back would be awkward with a set of golf clubs. Its funny that opening the passenger side cargo door give more room for them over the driver's side - expected them to be symmetrical.

Will try to get some pics soon. Love the Umber more and more every time I get in there - and the smell of new leather. Ah. I can't wax poetic like JZDX can, but I sure do like it!

It has been interesting seeing people stop to look as well. In my BMW-Z3 days I used to think it was because of me. Now I guess it is just the car. Sigh.

If we did more long road trips I would think about the XM subscription but we fly if its that long. I have short commute to work and we live close to just about everyting.

What program do you burn the DVD-A's on? I started looking into them and have had minimal luck.

Congrats!

I was told by a salesman that the driver side cubby in the cargo area is smaller because it houses the motor for the power tail gate.

If you search the 3G forum, there are a couple of threads about DVD-A programs. Haven't tried any yet. Someday, I'll get some time . . .

I've been using DVD Audio Solo by Cirlinca for several years to burn the surround discs.

I just tried copying MP3s to a DVD-R in windows to make the MP3-DVD but still no joy. Guess I'll go the usb stick route.

If the sun stays out this weekend i'll try to get some pictures this weekend.

some further observations:

my 2001 MDX had a 2-part sun visor so you could have one on the front and one on the side. Missed it in my RDX and surprised its not on the ZDX.

RDX didn't require you to OK nav system before going to audio screen, ZDX does. not a big deal, because I almost always have the navi up, but strange.

Why can I open and close the sunshades and open the sunroof with one press, but I have to hold it to close?

Would have been a bit better if you could open the front sunshade but keep rear one closed.

Still need a better strategy for change. I would like to keep my cell on the tray in the console so not much room for it anywhere.

I really like having the fuel fill door tied to the door locks instead of a separate release as with my RDX.

wood steering wheel is terrific, and I would recommend to all.

HDD music search voice commands are sure fire way to impress your friends.

I believe that one touch close sunroof/sunshade would require a obstruction sensor which I suspect may be diffcult to do with the glass roof that moves in 2 dimension (front and down) when it closes.

There are some troughs next to the second cupholder that are suppose to hold change . . not ideal but ok.

I put a few pics in the gallery - couldn't figure out how to add them here.

Not photographically talented, obviously, but do have good taste in cars.

bsemple - nic pics . . .you do have good taste in cars and colors. (I have the same color combo) I noticed that you have the wood trim, wood steering wheel, and shifter. How much did you pay for it and how do you like it?

Absolutely love them - especially the wheel, but they all co-ordinate well together.

I don't have invoice in front of me, but I believe 15% off acura accessories list.

I had planned to do trim and shifter, but the installed price wasn't that much higher than I found the accessories for.
