Came out of the grocery store today to load the haul into my ZDX's trunk. A nice couple parked next to me were doing the same with their new white Macan Turbo. The husband approached me and said they loved the car but had never seen one before, so he assumed it was brand new but he was confused by my older license plate (CA slightly changed the look a few years ago). I thanked him but told him it was almost ten years old, and he and his wife were blown away! I thanked him again for the compliment and said I put a lot of effort into keeping it detailed, inside and out.

He then said it looked like the perfect kind of vehicle for them, as they weren't too happy with their Porsche (he didn't say why, and I didn't ask). I agreed, said how much I loved it, and lamented that it was cancelled by Acura so quickly. That's when his wife chimed in and asked, "So they don't make it anymore?" When I confirmed that they didn't, she was visibly disappointed. "I told him to buy me one, and we were headed to the Acura place later today!" We exchanged some more pleasantries and then each headed on our way, The exchange left me feeling good about the ZDX in general, and the condition mine is in, in particular. I know everyone here knows how great the ZDX is, but yet again we see how far ahead of the times Acura was with this vehicle, and how if they had just stuck with it they would have had another good seller and vehicle that improved their brand image overall.

 

Great story !!! Cool thing is that so far I never saw a ZDX that looked weathered, unkept. Maybe it’s the lines and great material because these cars hold up well. My 04 TL was the same way and Legend Coupe. Your story sounds like one of mine ! Well thanks for sharing ! Making me loving mine even more

 

Oh I remember you have that nice wine color ZDX, looks good! and the NSX!!!

 

The ZDX really stands out in SoCal because there are those people that drive the trendy, "stylish" SUVs like the Macan, Audi e-Tron, BMW X4/6, etc. and they'll see the ZDX and say "oooh what's that?"

I had similar interactions in Orange County...it helps that it looks like a Lambo Urus. Ha.

 

That’s sayin a lot if it stands out in Cali!

 

Always love hearing these stories, the used market is a bargain now if you can find what your looking for. We actually bought another ZDX last week in Grigio / Umber cause we love them so much. This is just one of those cars you will have to act fast on certain ones as they get bought fast. Some sit on lots forever too.....
