Nav updated

I am wondering if the Nav updated is worth the $100.00.

I updated my 2G TLS Navi, four years ago, from the 2002 Disc, to the most current, 2013 disk. Total waste of money, IMO. Actually, I rarely use it anyway, as the WAZE App., on my Iphone, is so so so much better!

I tend to buy the update every three years or so. It helps with the most current street maps and especially POIs. So for $100 every few years, yes I think it's worth it.

I got until August to update it at that price,however I had a 2018 TLX as al loaner today and I figure I checkout and see if the route from my home to my parents home been updated. It only shows the old routes, not the new route which I have used for the past four years.

I bought the update last year since my low-mileage 2012 had just been refreshed (new paint, tires, windshield, bulbs/lenses, etc), but since I live in a rural area where new roads are unusual, I don’t expect I’ll bother with it again. Besides, the nav. system has a tendency to direct you down remote side-roads, and many rural zones are (as yet) unmapped. It only really comes in handy when I am thoroughly lost, and I have to click: ‘go home’.
