"JustPlug"
"JustPlug"
I found this article interesting: https://stocks.apple.com/AFPuTSpPdQSWJEeXSGMG59w
In particular, the stuff about Emobi and their JustPlug solution. This seems to be a wrapper around ISO 15118 (which is what ElectrifyAmerica uses), which has a reputation for being difficult to implement. Which is mostly why EVgo uses autocharge+ instead, which is easier to implement, though questionable if it is as secure.
The lack of wide-spread support for plug and charge (no matter which particular implementation, there are at least 3) is my biggest gripe with the EV industry. Because of digital communication between cars and DC fast chargers, recharging a car should be simpler than refueling a car. Instead we get many charging networks that do not even have credit card readers (Tesla comes to mind, and many smaller networks too), meaning I need to find the network's app, setup another account, file my credit card yet again. This makes recharging not only slower than gasoline, but less convenient at the same time. Sheesh!
Of course, the sour part here is, even if JustPlug were to take off, what are the odds that Acura would enroll itself? Sigh...

Billjay, I find a bit of irony in your post. Specifically, your concerns about setting up yet another app, credit card, etc., vs. the link you included which requires the reader to have/use a specific program! I have no intention for that to be a flame, so I hope you don't take it that way.
I too would like the DC fast charging scene to be more seamless, but I'm fortunate not to have to use it very often. Actually, I set up the Tesla app with my credit card - just so I could test the NACS adapter I purchased! Not something I would normally do, but it suited my immediate needs. Note that I've only used the adapter once since then, at a Tesla supercharger, of course.
