J-Pipe On The ZDX

I see a few of you installed a J-Pipe in place of your downpipe on your ZDX. I’m currently researching the swap out and was wondering if there were any negatives that came about during and or after the installation?

I’m thinking along the lines of…

- Additional heat felt in the drivers and or passenger flooring?
-
Cabin noise? This is a substantially lighter in weight (density) which wouldn’t contain the noise as much as the OEM unit.
-
Splash pan modifications?

I’ll most likely need to utilize the 3rd CAT (emissions testing in PA), but might replace the OEM with a high flow. And for what’s it worth, the two pre CAT’s could also be swapped out for high flow versions.

All thoughts/experiences welcome.

I believe any manufacturer that makes one for a 2nd gen MDX that has SH-AWD should fit, but it’s best to contact them for specifics prior to purchasing.
