GPS update

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone updated their Maps to the 2019 updates and if so what changes did the update bring(new roads, routes poi in your area). My nav is out dated. I do use it a lot whenever I am traveling to cities unknown to me. I have been using my phone, but I don’t find it as handy as the built in unit.

I buy the map update every other year. I can't give you statistics, but of course each update brings new roads, new POIs, etc. I find the every-other-year pacing to be the right balance of cost vs. convenience.

Since 2014 has been a lot of changes, I do not think the price will drop.
New update always comes up in the Fall, so may be you can wait for the Fall and get the 2020 update..

Well I guess I go away head an purchase it since do use the nav when I go places I never been before. I guess if it keeps me from getting lost. I guess I can justify the cost.

I generally do the same. I think it’s a crock that we have to pay for updates, since you can buy and entire gps unit for $100. I have multiple cars and I can’t justify paying this. Honestly, the best spent money would be having someone install Carplay on our ZDX’s and be done with it.

And if you're not an Apple enthusiast...?

I would more likely pass on factory navigation system if I was purchasing a new vehicle. I had a RDX as a loaner it was the standard model, but I found the map on my phone better and more up to date compared to the factory system in my ZDX.
