The Back Seat
For the first time, I had human beings riding in the back seat of the ZDX. I don't have back-seat riders that often. Anyway...
One person was a stocky guy, about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He got back there with not problem and said he was comfortable. The other was a young woman about 5 feet 5 inches tall. She was equally comfortable.
This brings me to the question: what were the reviewers complaining about when they were dissing the ZDX's back seat? How big are people who are reviewing or riding in cars nowadays? Have we Americans become huge, or do I know a bunch of little people?

I don't think the door is that hard to get in and out of. Just lean forward. Maybe it's just me...

It's a niche vehicle.
like you said, you normally dont have passengers and you yourself dont find it hard to get in and out.
compared to a "normal" vehicle, one wouldnt have to 'lean' forward to get in.
but then again, you knew what you were buying when you bought it.
I think the reviewers were just trying to point out the odd shape and it's unconventional way to hop in the back seat.
kind of like a coupe.
it's hard as fuck to get into the rear, no one will complain out loud, but they're all thinking it.

the only problem is low roof and narrow rear door. actually its not too comfortable even to put the baby in the baby seat
but once you get in its pretty comfortable in the rear seat
but once you get in its pretty comfortable in the rear seat

It isn't comfortable to get in and out but once you are in, it is nice. This thread might head to a wrong direction. The one thing I hate though is that if you don't carefully get in, you can scratch the heck out of the trim plastic by the rear doors. It still beat getting into a two door coupe.

I rarely have rear passengers as well, but the few people that have been back there all said they were comfortable and had enough room. Just took a 3 hour road trip with my mom and younger brother. My younger brother who is 6'0", and weighs 210 lbs sat in the back and even took a short nap. All with no complaints. I'm a tall guy myself. I once sat back there when I first bought it new just to see how it feels. I must say, although my head was almost touching the ceiling, it is still not as cramped back there as some reviewers made it out to be. The view of the front dash is also nice from back there. Made me appreciate the ZDX interior even more.

I understand that the market has spoken and very few people bought the ZDX. However, I wonder how many people rejected the ZDX based on reviewers without even looking at the ZDX for themselves. I understand getting into the ZDX's back seat might be a bit more challenging than say, a Cadillac Escalade. But is it THAT bad?

Yeah, I don't see how 6' 8'' could be comfortable in the back of the ZDX. It just so happens not too many of us are blessed with such height.

Advanced
My parents have a really difficult time getting into the rear. They're in their 60s, have less mobility, and are shorter. The problem with getting in, is that the seats are so far away from the entrance, and the arc of the roof means you have to lean forward. For someone short stepping up, its not the most comfortable thing in the world. Also, because of the slim windows and long dash, the back feels a little claustrophobic.
However, I did not buy my car for my rear passengers. The rear seat will more than do in a pinch, and is still a significant upgrade over a coupe. For an SUV though, it's pretty awful.

To be fair, I had a friend of mine who is 5 feet, 6 inches complain about how awkward it was getting into the car. I guess it depends on the person.
