2013 Grill installed on my 2012 Tech package

Well as the title says I completed the install of the grill. All went smooth but it was allot of work aligning the new grill to get it to fit right. The 2012 bumper has differant clip sizes attaching the grill to the bumper so some of the new clips for the 2013 needed some finesing. Was not able to take as many pictures as I was hoping it was Valentines day and my wife wanted to go eat. If anyone is planning on doing this and has any questions just let me know and I will answer as best I can. While I loved the ZDX since 2010s release I really am digging the 2013 grill set. The total was 670 dollars. Hope these photos work.

wow, nice work. you made a rare car even rarer.
I'm concerned that someone mentioned the radar screen on the Advance grill might make this impossible??? Seems like it would fit but probably be complicated.
now for the automatic folding side mirrors...

Haha yes the mirrors would be a nice feature to have! I may look into those as well. I think with a dremmel, some patience and some JB weld the Advance radar could be modified to work with the 13 grill. Hows your search coming for an Advance? Have you considered flying in and driving one back to TX for the right one. I have done that in the past from NY to VA.

Nicely done
As for Advance radar screen, there is no 2013 grille with radar screen, and without that screen the grille may make the radar inoperable (if it fits at all)
I was going to order the parts untill I noticed this. So I probably just paint the old grille

Thank You Sandro I wonder if the radar could be mounted right behind the mesh and work? Maybe cut out a 3x3 inch section. Just a thought but maybe that could work. There is allot of room to mount something and play around with it behind the grill.

The Radar screen positioning and mounting seems complicated, you def would not want false activations of CMBS etc.
There are no Z's even to look at around here. The mpg is scaring me off a little, but I see the new RLX Advance is over $60k, so a sweet Z for half that makes up for a lot of gas.

Cutting the mesh makes it a completely another story. I would not do that MAYBE we can make the old mesh fit the new grille but its not worth the trouble of finding out

Actually the beak grill has grown on me some on the Z. it fits the dramatic over the top Z style, better than on the TL or the RL. I do dislike the loopy silver inserts on the lower front bumper. There's gotta be easy ways to improve that opening other than just painting it out.
I wonder if I'll ever see another Z in person, beak or not. I know I'll never see a 2013 Z.

Yes it is identical pattern and color. I think I have the only 13z lol in the Mid Atlantic area. You could cover the South Central.

I agree probably not worth cutting it all up. I also like the 10-12 design as well but I always get the mod bug.

Was it a hard install? For $670, was the grille painted already?

Nice pics. The 10-12 grille looks better when painted to match the body color, but the 2013 grille is nicer overall. One of the main reasons I decided to buy a 13.

I pmed you back. The grill trim was already painted. You specify your vehicle color when ordering. If you decide you are going to do it let me know and I will scan my receipt with all the parts for you.

I own a 2010 with Tech package, i wonder if it would make more sense to buy a 2010 grill and paint it vs buying a 2013 and working it to fit. My brother n law is in parts at Honda here in town, and i wonder what my cost would be on the grill. If i was to buy an extra and have it painted vs buying a prepaided 2013 version..

Any thoughts?
